erm... i see there is some interest, let me check with the hotel and find out how many rooms they have available  ::)

As Easter Sunday is 8 April 2012 in order to miss the school holidays we go for Fri 20 Apr to Mon 23 Apr.  so that's we leave on friday morning on a 9ish train... and come home on monday afternoon.

we are looking to go to Compiegne.  This is towards the East of Paris.  The hotel is not in the centre of town but does has a restaurant.  There are no other restaurants close to the hotel.  There is a chateau about 10 miles away where they filmed the series "Merlin".  The distance from the tunnel is 142 miles and the cost is showing at present as £130 for the three nights (not including breakfast).

The idea of these trips is to get out on the bikes, a sort of Start to the season, because of where the hotel is we may have to get a taxi into town for the evening.

usually the pace is brisk but safe, we will have a couple of plod and ex plod along with us, all of us are experienced riders and travel to Europe a lot, newbies will be put in the middle of the pack, but you will be expected to keep up..... we have had probs before with people who refuse to filter or go round corners at a speed slower than the continental drift....

on the runs out we will go in two groups, the mad buggers which include me and my good lady (on her 1250 Bandit) and those people who prefer a more 'sedate zzzzzzzzzz' pace, be warned there is a good possibility that i will be leading on the first day from the tunnel onwards, which means we WILL get lost..hahaha... and I shall be avoiding autoroutes as much as i can.

Hi Mogstar, have tried to PM you, but it keeps on coming back. Would love to meet up on the April trip you are planning. Would B and B Thursday eve and meet you Friday am, Train/Ferry, as i am coming from the North-West, ie Liverpool. Please advise if Hotel is booked yet, and if invites are still open.
