Charity Ride Around The Whole Coast Of Mainland UK

Hi All,

I am planning a charity ride around the whole coast of the UK (Mainland) and am looking for any volunteers to assist with the planning and preperation.

I need routes, stopovers and a pot of tea too! :-)

If anyone can help out I would be very grateful...

Depending on planning constraints, I am looking to do this end May/June time.  I am booking 3 weeks off work (maybe more if needed! lol).

I have a couple of charities in mind... H4H and the Royal British Legion (Im a member of their bikers section).

However, if anyone has any worthwhile charities, I dont mind splitting if you guys do the begging.  You can raise the money on the back of the ride.  Ill add it to the list.

The route I am looking at so far is:

Brighton to St Ives
St Ives to Aberystwith (via coast)
Aberystwith to Whitehaven (via coast)
Whitehaven to Fort William (Via Stranraer and Barravillin)
Fort William to Durness (Via coast)
Durness to Inverness (Via John o' Groats)
Inverness to Berwick on Tweed (Via Fraserborough, Dundee and Aberdeen)
Berwick on Tweed to Kings Lynn (Via Scarborough Hull, Coast etc)
Kings Lynn to Chelmsford (Via Coast)
Chelmsford to Brighton ( via Dover and coast)

At least 10 days of intensive riding and around 4000 miles.

I will be paying for all my own petrol, food etc and of course the new tyres! lol  I am hoping to find accomodation along the way or in cheap hotels so if anyone knows anyone in the places above.... lol

Good for you Dive ... I am sure there are plenty here who will help you out ... a few quid here and there soon builds up for petrol food and bedding ! ... as well as sponsorship  ;D

A spare room is available at mine if of any use.
We are in Wickford, near Basildon, about 10 miles south of Chelmsford.
Can put bike in the garage overnight and have tools and the ability to help with any technical problems.
