have recently change my oil and filter, so removed the left side bottom panel to gain excess to the oil filter, why remove that I hear you mumble! well wanted to tourque the filter to the correct tightness and my tourqe wrench is a bit to long to get the turn in to tourqe it! anyway thats been done and the pannel re-fitted! however am just asking if some one can either take a close pic of the position of the idle adjusted for me so I can see if have re-located mine correctly. am sure I have, but the end that you turn to adjust is laying against the side of the pannel, so you I need to pull it away slightly so I can turn the adjuster if I need to alter the idle, now this may be correct in this position, but am thinking there may be some kind of plastic holder that will keep the adjuster knob away from the pannel so its just a matter of turning the adjuster. its works perfectly well, its just that I need to hold the adjuster away from the pannel to enable me to turn the knob! "PLEASE CHECK IF YOUR IS THE SAME" or if theres a plastic clip of some sought holding it away from the pannel. for example my zzr1400 as the same adjuster idle knob but theres a plastic clip that hold the adjuster away from the pannel slighty so it can be adjusted with out the need to pull away first. of cousre the zzr1400 idle adjuster is located and secured different due to the different pannels. was going to wait till I seen another gtr1400 2010 model so I could compair. suppose another way is to remove the panel again and see if have trapped the clip "if of course there is a clip" behind the pannel. but before I remove the pannel again just thought I would ask you guys who have the new model if theres is the same. am sure the gtr1400 idle adjuster is excactly the way it should be because there is no room for a clip to hold the adjuster in place.
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

I'll have a look at my 08 model and see how it is fitted on that.
