have sex with their motorcycles.
From my point of view you are all equally wierd!  ;)

and whats wrong with spending ages in the Garage rubbing ones hands over the silky smooth curves of the object of ones desires... :-*

I can often be found having a threesome with voluptious kawasaki and the sensual sleeky Italian strumpet (my aprilia)  :o

She is like the Bumblebee, she should not fly....... and yet she does!

Each to their own.
So far as I'm concerned it's a motorcycle, not the crown jewels.
I abuse it and thrash it mercilessly.  ;D
I ride it lots, I don't clean it at all regularly, and it gets serviced according to the manual (oil & filter every 8k miles).

Others like to polish/pamper/worry about resale values/have sex with their motorcycles.

"have sex with their motorcycles" interesting! how dose that work then ;)
"oil & filter every 8k miles! I prefer to change my oil & filter every 12 months or 3,000 miles which ever come's first. the oil as a tough job of taking care of the clutch, all engine internals, gear box, and act's as a coolant, for the sake of £30.00 for the oil and filter I personally think it's a no brainer.
"I abuse it and thrash it mercilessly! there's 3 loves in my life "but only one get's trash and abused ;D
"I ride it lots! all my 3 loves get ridden well ;)
"I don't clean it at all regularly! anythink I ride must be clean, that includes my bike's ;D

getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

My Suzuki V-Strom crumpled away after a few winters and ironically I cleaned that bike religiously. Just bad build quality on the Suzukis I reckon. I hear where you're coming from, but as long I have enough chemicals on the exterior to prevent damage and spend money on the internals where it really matters, I'm going to ride it more than I clean it. Oh, and occasionally thrash it  ;D

A bit of WD40 or 3in1 oil on the various linkages and pivots on the gear change pedal and shaft work wonders for the gear change on mine, though that *might* be related to the comment below ....

Amen, expertly applied coatings of ACF50 and a protective layer of mud for me too. I will wash the salt off however.

Martin.

65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

OCD OR WHAT!!!!!! I clean my bike's after every ride, "by our much" depends on what the weather as been like. if the weather as been particularly bad and have used the deluxe car shampoo "wash and wax" and the hose pipe. then out come's the "leaf blower" to make sure the bike is bone dry before put away. beat that :P

P.S is the touring caravan yours? I had a 23ft lunar lexon se. but sold it 3 years ago, had some excellent time's and met some very nice friend's over the year's, which we still meet now again for a good "scran and bevy" don't think we will get another tourer thou! been there done that. but some of the best times we had where touring up and down the country :)

Yep wash n wax in winter, thorough polish in summer, and i must admit i have a compressor so i too blow the excess water off. I cant stand the settled water in the bolt heads it turns them grey after time. The caravan is a wreck we use it for weekends when we go to horse events, a top model like you had would be wrecked in a year, the front of the van you see in the picture is our motorhome i have a 2 bike trailer and we put both bikes on and travel to site then travel everywhere else on the bikes. The bikes are like a magnet on site all sorts of people come up to us and just start chatting like you say good times, wouldnt change it for the world.
