1400GTR Discussion / Re: Fairing Removal.
September 21, 2014, 09:33:59 PM
Hi Steve,
In the second pic the leading edge part of the fairing is left on the bike. I've just had a bit of damage done here by a flying stone. Question is, can it be taken off without removing other fairing parts?

Thanks
David.

Thanks for that, I have an excellent painter but I just thought that with the pink and green speckle (yes really) it would be a bugger to match. I'm in NI BTW.

1400GTR Discussion / Damaged fairing....
September 21, 2014, 06:00:16 PM
Hi Guys,
Just arrived home after a great run out on the NW coast to discover a bl@@dy big crack in the fairing on the lower RHS leading edge. Seems like a stone of some sort did this but I can't remember being hit that hard. Can this be repaired easily or should I buy a new bit and if so do they come painted?

Not being able to get the Canyon bars here I bought a set at the NEC bike show this week from R&G. I saw them in the flesh and decided that they would be fine, especially having spoken to a cop who had his GTR pushed over on him with no ill effects. They may be a little "lighter" than the Canyon Cages but I feel they look a little better imho. I still will buy the rear Canyons when available here as I feel they are the best available atm.
Cost of R&Gs at the show was £185 delivered. Fitted in an hour today and look excellent :)

Just be sure it is 12 Volt rather than 5 Volt (USB) before you connect anything

What about just not holding on?  Feel the bike tell her which way to lean (through the seat), and you just ride smoother.

If she's asks where to put her arms - say hold on to your knees.  It's a really comfortable position, and if you got a top box, she's highly unlikely to come off the back....  :-)

Believe me, she knows how to ride either awake or asleep, she's been doing it for 30 years  :mfr_lol:

Thanks Guys,

Madame does not want love handles, (I did suggest this) and she has a backrest to lie against, I have been given orders and I have said, "Yes Dear" :helpsmilie:

1400GTR Discussion / Co-Pilot hand grips?
November 08, 2013, 11:10:12 PM
My co-pilot/navigator says that she would prefer if her grip rails were a bit further forward, in other words, so she doesn't have to put her hands and arms behind her whist on the bike. She reckons it's not so comfortable this way.

Has anyone farkled a way round this? :ohplease:

when the bike is running the volts are at 14.4, that brings the ampage down to 11a per bulb, that's not a lots and im sure the wires are plenty thick enough

That's correct (the calculation) but the point, as I see it, would be that even 11A is almost three times more than the 4A of 60W @ 14.4V for a normal filament. Just my opinion but I wouldn't do it. Another thing that may matter a bit is that, regardless of dash indication, normal alternator output is about 13.8V and over 14V would normally be considered high. BTW don't bank on companies putting anything (like wiring) but the bare minimum in their goods. Again this is only imho I don't want to start an argument.
