on the outcome of the pro set up

any susgestions on a set up before I do this

I'd be grateful I'm 6ft and 16 stone ?

1400GTR Discussion / what do you guys think

well I've had my gtr 4 months now

I'm still enjoying the bike I done over 500 miles this weekend

there's just one thing that bugs me on the bike

is it just me or is the suspension not to great

it just feels very budget and flat

don't get me wrong I love the bike but for 13.000 k

I think Kawasaki should have put better quality shocks on it

I mean even a xjr 1300 at 9 k has got ohlins which are fantastic

I just wondered what the forum feels about the subject

plus has any body changed out the shocks and for what

love to hear other peoples veiws on the subject

hi ya stm gtr

we did the trip over 1800 miles and 4 days lol even then i got off that bike walking like john wayne ha ha

yes 4 days 1800 miles our trip was planned thus well we live in wiltshire royal wotton bassett
so the first day after work was the trip down to lands end cornwall stayed the night there
then the next day day 1 we did the west coast of cornwall straight up through to devon
up on though ilficombe minehead back to the m5 at bridgwater summerset  then took the m4 into wales
then through the brecon beacons on to cardigan stayed the night
day 2 cardigan to ayr we went over the snowdonia mountins north wales round the bottom end of liverpool
onto the m6 for a few miles then straight through the lake district lake windermere then back on the m6
to carlisle...... then straight to ayr? stayed the night in ayr early start next day day 3 ayr to john o groates
ayr traveling north of glasgow onto fort william right along the locks lock loman lock ness
then to inverness across the three bridges straight up the a9 to wick then john o groates
day 4 straight down the motorway home m6 m5 m4 a bloody long ride lol

as for tank range on the vfr i dont know why people are botherd about tank range
well for me 200 miles is plenty the vfr done about 180 mile to the tank
but we found that we stopped every hundred odd miles anyhow
stretch are legs have a coffee go to the loo getting old now ha ? so we just filled up then no problem at all
i guess if your in the outer mongolla in the middle of nowhere a big tank would be a great advantage
but here in the uk it really isnt a problem as theres petrol stations in every town and every other village
mind you saying that ive heard the highlands you may have to plan your millage a little closer

:punk:  :surrender:  :biker3: :sleep1:

Hi there where in Swindon are you I'm in Chippenham

St1300 to gtr1400..........comparison

St1300 for

1.....the pans got better suspension or should I say softer soaks up the bumps nicely
2.....better wind protection mainly due to a much bigger screen as standard
3.....bigger back seat for the other half ........but I don't care mines great lol
4.....slightly better balance at low speeds hides its weight well

St1300 against

1.....well outdated instrument panel
2.....styling not to bad but looking dated now
3.....not very exciting to ride but still has descent handling
4.....Very expensive with none of the extras and goodies other bikes have

Gtr 1400 for

1......fantastic styling very good looking bike
2......great features like heated grips tyre pressure cencers key fob starter system 12v socket etc
3......lets not forget the gtrs engine super sweet and smooth and very quick one word fun?
4......very comfortable seat great ergonomics well for me anyhow rider seat only
5..... Fantastic gearbox and really light clutch

Gtr 1400 against

1..... Front windshield still to small as standard windy at the higher speeds
2......small seat for your passenger who's cares a ..........lol the wife that's who
3......the tank paint and panniers mark really easy from clothing and boots protective pads a must
4......suspension a bit choppy compared to the pan but I guess it has to be a bit stiff for the top speed

All in all you pay ya money and take your choice ???

But for me the gtr is a fantastic bike very pleased I don't regret part x ing the pan European
The pans a good bike don't get my wrong  but it needs a major re vamp
on style and equipment also price it's expensive
Then it might be a contender again but for now I'm staying with the kawasaki
