St1300 to gtr1400..........comparison

St1300 for

1.....the pans got better suspension or should I say softer soaks up the bumps nicely
2.....better wind protection mainly due to a much bigger screen as standard
3.....bigger back seat for the other half ........but I don't care mines great lol
4.....slightly better balance at low speeds hides its weight well

St1300 against

1.....well outdated instrument panel
2.....styling not to bad but looking dated now
3.....not very exciting to ride but still has descent handling
4.....Very expensive with none of the extras and goodies other bikes have

Gtr 1400 for

1......fantastic styling very good looking bike
2......great features like heated grips tyre pressure cencers key fob starter system 12v socket etc
3......lets not forget the gtrs engine super sweet and smooth and very quick one word fun?
4......very comfortable seat great ergonomics well for me anyhow rider seat only
5..... Fantastic gearbox and really light clutch

Gtr 1400 against

1..... Front windshield still to small as standard windy at the higher speeds
2......small seat for your passenger who's cares a ..........lol the wife that's who
3......the tank paint and panniers mark really easy from clothing and boots protective pads a must
4......suspension a bit choppy compared to the pan but I guess it has to be a bit stiff for the top speed

All in all you pay ya money and take your choice ???

But for me the gtr is a fantastic bike very pleased I don't regret part x ing the pan European
The pans a good bike don't get my wrong  but it needs a major re vamp
on style and equipment also price it's expensive
Then it might be a contender again but for now I'm staying with the kawasaki

I have come to the GTR from a number of pans and have noticed how much heavier the steering input is on the GTR. I have also noticed I am doing 10mph extra on the entry to bends because I am getting used to the awesome engine which may account for it.

Has anyone else noticed this or is there something in the setup I haven't got right?

What tyres have you got on? Had that problem with the BT021s. Not with any other brand

Yeh same here.... when I bought my gtr last year the steering was very heavy as the tyres were shot.
Put some pr3's on from the advice from other lads on the forum and it was a totally different bike.
The Bridgestones had worn down to a very strange shape indeed, especially on the front. I couldn't believe that the previous owner had let them get so bad.

O.C.

Blimey Arran, you seem to be so excited about your new GTR that your hands are shaking, the picture is a bit blurred   :mfr_lol:

Nice pics BTW, the Pan is still a looker
