General Discussion / Re: Breakdown service

had my renewal in from Kawasaki £70.00 including a discount (so they say !) through rac, seen the green flag offer but ended up in a row as the discount they give is a bit complicated depending on the original policy you last had , anyway went to rac never mentioned my previous year with the Kawasaki breakdown cover , little bit haggling got 15 months personal cover which not only covers me for my bike but any vehicle I am in (not commercial ) £43.72 happy

it looks like a new  £18000.00 sx supercharged, seen it before but I think something else happened before the taxi driver drove off , the bike is in mco wigan , according to a previous  previous post , if it was mine I wouldn't want it back, surely it will be written off.

green flag are advertising a 50% reduction on any rac or aa renewal  quote , go to the green flag website for info ,the rc have just offered me 15 months for £54.99 , online I have had quotes for as little as £16.00 for a year, but after checking some of the reviews the service sounds crap. I would prefer to be with rac  , aa  ,or green flag ,  at least these will turn up if you need them

they do a good back up service , but unfortunately I have lost all faith in the bmw motorcycles , I sold my bike ,with around 5000 miles from new with around 4 months warranty left on it , I feel bad because the person I sold it to broke down in Italy , gearbox requires renewal ,nightmare for him and the bike to get  home, another bought a new bike gearbox problem from the off (reverse) bmw exchanged the bike , 700 miles later broke down with a gearbox fault ,  bmw charge a fortune for the bikes , they should not be breaking down like this , as much as I liked my 1600gt the weight was the issue with me , but after all of the negative feedback I have been reading about bmw bikes I  wont be getting another bmw in the future , I would advise a good look around the bmw forums to see what failures different models have been experiencing before anyone buys one ,

Keith.. what your suffering from riding the h2 sx is not low foot pegs or the position for aching wrists :nono: :nono: IT'S CALLED GETTING TO BLOODY OLD   try a more sit up bike like a R1200 GS LC or the RT1200 they are aching friendly for old buggers :mfr_lol: but dam good fun
probably a bit of that actually , one of the reasons I changed the zzr 1400 , but I do like the look of it , but like I said it is an engine that wants to be revved , I don't think it behaves any way as good as the zzr 1400 around town . but that is not what it is designed for , happy to stay with my sx for a while , I had a feeling I would end up with an sx, it has loads of poke , good weather protection has the panniers and really comfortable with the lowered pegs, a few of us  were down the bridge a couple of weeks ago it was heaving the busiest I have seen it, hope your door is behaving !!!!

really fancied the h2 sx, in fact I paid a deposit before I test rode one,  had a ride from my local kwack dealer ,  love the new green and black  colour scheme , sitting on the bike in the showroom thought it was comfortable and lower than my sx, out on the road noticed the weight increase  straight away, after half an hour my arse was aching , as were my wrists  , and the foot rests were a lot higher than I originally thought , although If I went ahead with the purchase I would have tried to fit the lowered pegs, but looking at it don't think it is as straight forward as fitting them to my zzr's or my present sx. the back brake may as well bot be there ,this is a bike that likes to be revved and when you do it has silky smooth exhilarating acceleration,  but at lower revs I found it was jerky, so unfortunately for me the h2 sx is not for me ,got back on my sx to ride home straight away mine was more comfortable and pulling away much smoother .dont get me wrong it is a cracking bike when you rev it, but when you do you are immediately  putting you license at risk!!! got my deposit back from orrel and explained why , wasn't a problem for them, so quite happy to stick with my sx ,

correct a new 2017 .z 100 sx tourer  I never left this site I am always popping my head in, before I bought the k 16 I was tempted by the sx , but could not  resist the k 16 ,I knew it was a bike I wouldn't be keeping due to the size and weight issue, but I am pleased I have had one and enjoyed every minute on it ,a local friend has it now and he will use it to its full potential, he tours all around Europe ,he has just completed a trip around Morroco, I think of all my bikes the k16 is the one I will miss the most ,its a bike you need to get on ride a few times before you start to appreciate it ,the 6 cylinder only revs to around 8000 ,but the torque is there all the way and the note from the pipes over 5000 keeps you smiling ,you don't get any vibrations at all.so the sx will be legal on the road Friday, sitting on it is really strange , the 100 kilo weight difference is a great saving ,I I am expecting a big shock in the comfort and the vibrations which apparently these do at around 6000 revs, bit I think it is good compromise , I still have the fairing ,adjustable screen , had heated grips fitted ,the 2017 also has  traction control if you need to brake in a corner it will assist you and keep you upright ,still have 143 bhp ,it will do me also have the matching quick release matching panniers ,had a bit of struggle getting this model , I have been trying most of the dealers in the country and they were all sold out ,will report my views on the sx after I have put some miles on it ,

was wondering when someone would ask, well its not a gtr ,I had a good relationship with my gtr ,but sold it as it was too heavy , then went back to the zzr's ,s, I couldn't resist he 1600 k , once I had it on my mind to get one I did , and don't regret it for one moment , absolutely fabulous bike , but was finding it too heavy to move around when parking and getting it in and out of the garage ,funny sold the gtr as it was too heavy ,then ended up with the 1600 k, even heavier, but once riding it ,it was so nimble  cornered and braked  great , with every comfort you could wish for .smoothest engine ever, 170 nm torque and 160 bhp, but I think it was only a matter of time before I took the  weight for granted and I am sure one day I would drop it ,was a sod to get parked sometimes when my mates just rode in and got off , I had to plan it so I could ride out safely. I cant comment on my new Kawasaki yet as like I said it is not legal till Friday the first .

well back on a Kawasaki, saying that I will be on Friday when I can ride it, the star ship enterprise has been sold on  (bmw k1600) I can honestly say like all of my bikes I WILL REALLY MISS IT , never rode anything as good ,but had my time and fun with it ,I have a habit of getting something in my mind for a change and I just do it , I was after something smaller .with the comfort and performance. looked around for a while struggled to find what I wanted , ,riding a smaller bike after coming from the k 16 was  a big come down, anyway I decided on going back to a Kawasaki, roll on Friday when it will be legal on the road and I can push it out of my garage for its maiden ride .
