well back on a Kawasaki, saying that I will be on Friday when I can ride it, the star ship enterprise has been sold on  (bmw k1600) I can honestly say like all of my bikes I WILL REALLY MISS IT , never rode anything as good ,but had my time and fun with it ,I have a habit of getting something in my mind for a change and I just do it , I was after something smaller .with the comfort and performance. looked around for a while struggled to find what I wanted , ,riding a smaller bike after coming from the k 16 was  a big come down, anyway I decided on going back to a Kawasaki, roll on Friday when it will be legal on the road and I can push it out of my garage for its maiden ride .

Very welcome back from the dark side :punk:
Now that you can compare, what are the biggest pros and contras from both bikes?

was wondering when someone would ask, well its not a gtr ,I had a good relationship with my gtr ,but sold it as it was too heavy , then went back to the zzr's ,s, I couldn't resist he 1600 k , once I had it on my mind to get one I did , and don't regret it for one moment , absolutely fabulous bike , but was finding it too heavy to move around when parking and getting it in and out of the garage ,funny sold the gtr as it was too heavy ,then ended up with the 1600 k, even heavier, but once riding it ,it was so nimble  cornered and braked  great , with every comfort you could wish for .smoothest engine ever, 170 nm torque and 160 bhp, but I think it was only a matter of time before I took the  weight for granted and I am sure one day I would drop it ,was a sod to get parked sometimes when my mates just rode in and got off , I had to plan it so I could ride out safely. I cant comment on my new Kawasaki yet as like I said it is not legal till Friday the first .

correct a new 2017 .z 100 sx tourer  I never left this site I am always popping my head in, before I bought the k 16 I was tempted by the sx , but could not  resist the k 16 ,I knew it was a bike I wouldn't be keeping due to the size and weight issue, but I am pleased I have had one and enjoyed every minute on it ,a local friend has it now and he will use it to its full potential, he tours all around Europe ,he has just completed a trip around Morroco, I think of all my bikes the k16 is the one I will miss the most ,its a bike you need to get on ride a few times before you start to appreciate it ,the 6 cylinder only revs to around 8000 ,but the torque is there all the way and the note from the pipes over 5000 keeps you smiling ,you don't get any vibrations at all.so the sx will be legal on the road Friday, sitting on it is really strange , the 100 kilo weight difference is a great saving ,I I am expecting a big shock in the comfort and the vibrations which apparently these do at around 6000 revs, bit I think it is good compromise , I still have the fairing ,adjustable screen , had heated grips fitted ,the 2017 also has  traction control if you need to brake in a corner it will assist you and keep you upright ,still have 143 bhp ,it will do me also have the matching quick release matching panniers ,had a bit of struggle getting this model , I have been trying most of the dealers in the country and they were all sold out ,will report my views on the sx after I have put some miles on it ,

Good choice Keith i had one for 2 years loved every minute of it I changed from a GTR to an SX 2 years ago because i had a Knee issue and the GTR was 305kg and the SX 230kg. I was lucky enough to have corrective surgery and my Knee is now good as New hence my return to the GTR. i would have kept the SX no problem if i could have fitted a Top box as well as the panniers but you can't have both together. Believe me the SX is an awesome bike and THB it will leave the GTR for Dead its a very quick and capable bike a true all rounder. It can scratch with the power rangers and tour with the bigger boys, i really liked the SX, having said that it's no GTR.

Negatives

Seat is not the best quite Hard until bedded in, then only good for most 150 miles.
Maximum 45 MPG being careful
limited storage space and awkward pannier design ( exactly same panniers as Versys )
Chain Drive

Positives

Lots of power goes like a scalded cat
3 selectable power modes
Reasonable New purchase price
Holds good residual value
Adjustable screen
Looks Good
Mega Grin Factor

I have a puig smoked screen and a new tank pad -  if you are interested PM me.
get a grip and deal with it

there have been considerable improvements I  the new 2017 sx ,wider fairing s improved riderf and passenger seats and the new traction control which keeps you safe if you need to brake in corners apparently it all works very well ,will let you know once I get it out

GTRpilot

My mate's got one, it does go like a scalded cat, is very nimble, and is a devil to keep up with on the GTR
XJ600, VFR800, CBR1100, Varadero1000, CBR1100, STX1300, GTR1400 ?
