Ok previously requested if there was a spare stand out there to overhaul and fit. Just didn't want the bike in bits for days whilst stand coated, so a swap seemed logical!
Recall in previous post, someone requested pics / plan......so here we go!

Decided to bite the bullet and buy a spare stand, then £5 for shot-blast and acid dip, £10 for zinc base & powder coat, end result:-

So, place on centre stand and lets get busy!
Read various stories of what a pig is was to change, so eventually got motivated to get on with it. Wanted to check all shock linkage bearings, so 2 birds..........
1- exhaust clamp and rear mounting hanger bolt, can off - loadsa' access!.
2- challenge, cant get at stand pivot nuts with rear shock linkage in place. :undecided: However, with Dog Bones out the way gives access for a spanner, this is where me handy "wedge" comes in  useful to lift the rear wheel / swing arm to take the load off the bolts for easy removal
(http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w473/snowr0/wedge_zpsleekyrlx.jpg) (http://s1077.photobucket.com/user/snowr0/media/wedge_zpsleekyrlx.jpg.html)
Remove lower and upper dog bone bolts from linkage, 17mm spanner on offside, 19mm on near side.
So, to check all shock linkages and grease up seems logical progression.

(http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w473/snowr0/stand6_zps8qxnpabk.jpg) (http://s1077.photobucket.com/user/snowr0/media/stand6_zps8qxnpabk.jpg.html)
3 -When upper and lower "bone" bolts out, remove bolt and bearing sleeve, hopefully not seized and should easily push out as only resistance of oil seals should be present. :hammer:
Hopefully we should have an undamaged / pit free and smooth pin and a visible needle roller cage free of rust and still well greased
(http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w473/snowr0/stand8_zpsnpxgtqct.jpg) (http://s1077.photobucket.com/user/snowr0/media/stand8_zpsnpxgtqct.jpg.html)
(http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w473/snowr0/stand10_zpsewmmgry6.jpg) (http://s1077.photobucket.com/user/snowr0/media/stand10_zpsewmmgry6.jpg.html)
4- At this point, I took the whole shock linkage off to check all bearings, 12mm spanner on off-side, 14mm on nearside.
All this can be done on the centre stand, I was amazed, this is the easiest linkage check I've ever done!
4a - kettle time!
5- push out all pins, check for corrosion / wear / roughness, I have no issue cleaning up the exposed ends with a bit of wire wool to remove crud / slight corrosion, but if face is dented / rough consider getting the bearings checked / replaced, can be done DIY, but not going there now!
(http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w473/snowr0/stand12_zpssu7zfkhe.jpg) (http://s1077.photobucket.com/user/snowr0/media/stand12_zpssu7zfkhe.jpg.html)
(http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w473/snowr0/stand14_zpstxawxuff.jpg) (http://s1077.photobucket.com/user/snowr0/media/stand14_zpstxawxuff.jpg.html)
Please note, although all my pins from the shock linkage had some marks on the end, and blemishes of some bearing needles, they were all smooth and true on the bearing surfaces, I'm not gonna change for that!
6 - At this point, with maximum access, remove the bolts from the two centre stand pins, don't try and remove as present as they're holding the bike up!
17mm spanner on both bolt head and nylock nut.
7 - at this point, we need to reassemble the shock linkage so we can get the bike on the side stand to allow centre stand removal.
Grease all bearings / pins and bolts, and loosely assemble all, you'll need the wedge again to get the lower dog bone bolt in by raising the back wheel a couple of cm, DON'T PUT THE NUT BACK ON THIS BOLT AS IT'S COMING OUT AGAIN IN A MO'.
8 - With all linkage back together, take off centre stand and place on side stand.
9- Start with the off-side stand pivot bolt, remove.
10 - repeat on near side, this will be a tad fiddly as stand spring pressure will be present.
11- Remove centre stand, ensure pins fit through the holes in new stand (sometimes bores haven't been protected in the coating process so you have to clean it out!), plenty of grease on stand hangers, spring pivot points.
12- start on near side, attach spring to chassis and stand and then you can use the stand to lever and line up holes, and refit stand pin / bolt, don't try to fit nylock yet.
13 - repeat with off side pivot bolt, again push home but leave nylock off.
14- now centre stand in place, take bike off side stand, and place on centre stand.
15 - remove the lower "bone" bolt we never put the nut back on, this allows the dog bones to hang vertical, so now we can get access to the centre stand bolts to replace the nylocks, fit and torque up on both stand bolts.
16 - wedge the rear wheel so "bones" line up with linkage, replace bolt and now fit the nylock, then tighten all pivot / bearing bolts to the correct pressure.
17 - check stand works well and pivots without binding, and rear suspension is working as you'd expect.
18 - refit silencer, tidy up tools and hit the swarfega - Kettle on then post refreshment - test time! :biker3:
Objectives met,
1 - remove scabby centre stand and replace with a hopefully, permanently coated solution!
2- check that shock linkage free / un-seized and now lubed up for another 8 years of use!

So, if anyone wants to borrow a stand and do the same, one here for use!
Mrs Snowy will have the right hump when she sees her hallway carpet.......
Excellent description and accompanying pictures ...well done Snowy

Too much tea results in to much p*e........nowt gets me more frustrated, when fettling, to break off for a call of nature, the cleaning up etc to get to the WC! :censored:
Need to mount a funnel on me bench and bit of tube in through the drain inspection cover that's in the garage!
What is it........necessity is the mother of invention!
As for cake, Doc man has got me on obs, - pisser - so limited to one or two rich tea / digestive a day.........it's just wrong!
Thanks for positive comments, pleased with stand, but even happier knowing suspension linkage is all OK!
You RUDE man :mfr_lol:..its to saucy for wooks intergalactic communication device :hammer: :mfr_lol:
So I now have my nice new shiny stand back from the powder coasters and thanks to the original posting up the top I shall fit it on tomorrow morning as per pictures and instructions.
That will leave me with a stand to sell on to the next person who wants to do the same, any takers?
Alan
Cheers Snowy...
As it's an 11 plate I'll give the stand a good butchers, just to be safe..
You could always buy my spare 11 stand then get it powder coated like I did and fit it in one go like I did.
Then sell yours, like I am trying to do 😀
Took me an hour and a half to do and the only point I would make is that point 12 I found it easier to bolt the new stand up then stretch the spring using pliers to clip on.
Alan
Just returned to make a PDF of the post with the pics and they've gone  Hope you can find them again and edit the post ... I need to do this as the Hammerite method just keeps coming off again.
