I don't like these black wheels on my baby.. The :shit: seems to show up more on them than on the silver ones on last baby.
Is it me, or does anyone else feel the same? :hammer:
Debs, would you like a set of silver wheels in mint condition free of charge?
I happen to know that Asif hates his silver wheels. :whistling:
I wouldn't mind Black wheels ...
Please tell me you haven't been talking to ZG.
I wish my wheels were black...... :innocent:

So do I.

Only the fast bikes, (magnesium colour) come as standard with black wheels.
ive seen this topic come up before and most people want black wheels. On my zzr1200 I had black and I did find them very boring so I bought the gold ones off ebay( they were factory colour ) changed them over at tyre change time and sold the black ones for the same money.
You could have the rims polished , this is something you could do yourself

That's why I got a green one as not keen on the black wheels. You could put a red or complementary / contrasting pin stripe on the rim Debs ?

Mine are being powder coated soon......
I had a problem with my black wheels at first but they grew on me , and yes they are a real pain to keep clean, but once cleaned they are by far the best looking wheel, debs you will grow to like them.I use a foam cleaner once a month to get into the difficult areas to keep them in tip-top condition ( although i do wash the bike, wheels and all every week ).
I would love silver wheels back. Can I have yours Asif? :mfr_lol:

I'm sure if you're serious he'll be in touch if he hasn't been already.
When I bought my baby , I had only one condition for the dealer : he had to change the black ones for the silver ones...
I`m still happy I made that choice :-)

Yup - I'd be up for a swap
Silver wheels are faster. It's been proven.

As we say in Yorkshire......Bollocks.
My GTR1000 has black wheels, 178,000 miles on the clock and is 25 years old.
Today it blew past a K1600GT, a ZZR1400, a Ducati Panigale and several other slow motorcycles.
I put it down to the black wheels.  :punk:
Not my fault they can't filter (laneshare for the 'Merkins") worth a damn.
I just wish they would get out of the way when filtering,... and leave the bloody panniers at home if yer gonna be filtering.
Bloody K1600GT is as wide as a Ford Focus with the panniers on.
Sunny weather is here again and the bike park is full of bikes again.

If the wheels were to be swapped, the TPS would need to be swapped and at the same time, the tyres.
Would the rotors need to be swapped?
If they weren't, would you need to change pads?
If they were swapped, would the exisiting pads be ok?
Hi
Yes just swap rims, keep all your original brake rotors, TPS etc

When I changed the black ones (model 2010) for the silver ones from a model 2009... abs didn`t work... but after check... the abs-disc has more holes in the new model.... so you have to change the abs-disc also if the models are not equal
Good luck:-)

I don't think we will need to do that beegee. Thanks anyway.
Check out the wheels on my R1 piccy. Done myself over one winter. The ally was absolute mirror polished.
Thought about doing it to the GTR when I get time. Would compliment my magnesium grey quite a lot methinks!
