Hmm, interesting. I've also never been to the Ace Café and coincidentally I'm off duty on the 27th. Have you booked some decent weather? :whistling:
Ohhhhh could be fun, has someone sold their soul for the good weather?
Richard
Leave the weather to me Steve ! I'm off too so that might be worth an early morning ride up ... End of April ? the weather might even be half decent ! :mfr_lol: if I don't get my days off cancelled I would be up for that
for those who don't know check this out :punk:

1 pint of Iced Latte coming up :stuart:
I hope to be there. Missed last year but have made the previous 4 years.
Beware the nutters on scooters. Some of those ****holes need shooting.
Saw one the 1st year I went who lost control and binned it trying to do a wheelie.
His scooter slid in to a line of bikes and knocked 3 over.
The "kid" ran off and the owners of the bikes took their frustration :taz: out on the scooter.
Luckily damage was limited to mirrors and indicators,... except for the scooter.
Recently there has been an overt Police presence which has kept the nutters to a minimum.
Hey OC, there is usually a nice selection of triples there.
I saw the 666 4-cyl there 3 years back and Mr Milyard makes the occasional appearance on one of his weird beasties.
Quite a trip to get down here from the Lakes though.

That's correct George...quite a few lads that I know from the Triples club are regular attenders, the 4cyl 666cc (Triple) that you saw may have been a Red one which belongs to a close friend of mine who lives in London, he built the bike himself and its stunning
Work permitting/holiday allowance, I'll be there with the girlfriend on her bandit, and two mates, one with a ZZR1200 and the other has a bandit too.

That's the one. Immaculately turned out and sounded even better than the triples when he fired it up.

The bike is a masterpiece in engineering, its taken him ages to get it running just right ~ and has made from scratch the ignition system...amazing
It started life as an H1D 500 cc, but with the extra jug its now 666cc and is affectionately know ad "Damian"
here ya go George

Great pictures George, the bike is still in the same ownership
I've now had my shift pattern changed and have now found myself working on the 27th, but I will try and book it off.
I am coming along with a friend who has a Honda, hopefully nobody will object to her coming in as it's not a Kawasaki.
Subject to the weather of course and were not under water.
Alan
Alan, over many visits to the "Ace" I have found that if you ride in on a bike that is not the subject of the day, they simply park you over the road. In many ways this can be better, there is lots of space, probably less chance of damage (the on - site parking does get very crowded at times) and when you want to leave you can just ride out without difficulties.

Just a quick BUMP then
Next Sunday 27th, those of us in the eastern part of the country, anyone suggest a meet up point for the ride down. Peterborough,Huntingdon or similar ?
I am going from Oxford, no idea which way yet as not put the tomtom on yet :mfr_lol: but hopefully meet up with other GTR guys.
Alan
I have never been to the Ace, so I may even drag my ass off the sofa and go to this..
If its not pissing down I'll be there. Not sure if I'll bring the 1000 or the 1400 though. Just look for a huge fat bloke with grey hair and that may be me. :-)

 working at Doncaster
Well the turnout from this forum was disappointing but was good to meet Martin and PRD and his better half. Was a decent turnout of bikes and the only rain was a brief shower on the M25 on the way there. Lots of ZZRs and ZRXs there and a few triples and Z900s. I'll post a few pics once I've downloaded them from my camera.

I had initially intended to be there but we had all our shifts changed mid March and today was amended to a working day whereas before it was a rest day.
Mistake spotted and corrected, thanks Shaggs :mfr_lol:
Ooh hope ya feeling better Steve lol

Hi
I had considered coming, but was put off by the 200 miles each way, in what the forecast said would be rain all day.
Maybe next year lol
