Hi there, this may be a bore but to me it`s a real issue.  Let down twice by failure to start and both times while in very close proximity to my biking mate who has identical bike bought from same dealer.  It was also very wet!!  Eventually started after 3 hours on both occassions. battery disconnected both times but well before re-start.  Given the amount of issues, you guys heard anything from dealers, mine say, helpfully, they have never heard of the problem !!   Otherwise it has never failed to start and its a great bike.......

Hi

In the last 14/15 months I have had only two occasions where the fob wasn't recognised by the bike and therefore I couldn't get the key to turn/bike started - ironically the last one was yesterday at the start of a group ride. The solution yesterday was to place the the fob right next to the ignition and hey presto it worked and for the rest of the day it was fine. As the meeting point as at an airfield I suspect that there was some local "interference" with the Kipass signal.

I think on the first occasion which was probably 9-10 months ago I just moved the bike a few metres and those few metres was just enough to be reduce any local "interference"

It is a problem, more so it seems over the pond in the states. It appears the solenoid gets stuck and can be persuaded to release by gently hammering at the 9 o'clock position. Kawasaki should know about it cause they've repaired bikes previously under warranty with the same issue.
