Lots of very old posts here, would it not be a good idea for Admin to delete all posts that are no longer current as they are not really adding any value?

It would be good if users were able to delete their own posts, ie once stuff has been sold? However I do not think that there is a 'delete' function!?

Just a thought.

I get your point, but sometimes a very old thread will have the answers for a newbie so it's a balance between deleting what I believe to be useless info and useful points of reference. I have recently deleted pages and pages of old classified ads, which in itself was quite time consuming.

I know the UK GS forum has a facility to lock a for sale thread down once the sale is completed but the original author cannot delete it, if a seller were to PM me to advise the thread could be deleted once the sale was completed that would be helpful.

There are only two people including me who have the authority to manage threads and this forum and we are both very busy folk. We do our best!  :mfr_lol:

It's not unusual for newer members to trawl the forum and in so doing resurrect older posts, indeed I would encourage such behaviour, personally I don't mind this as it often serves as a reminder of times gone by for us older/longer serving members   :whistling:
