Bit the bullet and to save money for the forthcoming tour cracked the service bit's myself.
So,
Oil done,
Oil Filter done,
Air Filter done,
Final drive done,
Brakes being looked at,
Clutch and Brake fluid is good,
Tyres are good.
Coolant between mark's.
Only done 15000 so don't think shim's require checking yet.
Anything else you would consider checking prior to a foreign tour?

As far as I know still on original.
Good point though, 2010 bike, owned since 2013,, battery never given me cause for concern, but should I replace on it's age alone?

I think £50-ish is good value for peace of mind, plus will hopefully rule out a random failure in the next few years to come.

I'd change it, personally. Opinions may differ, however

Any thought's on the Motobatt battery as replacement.

Not a GTR, but I've used Motobatt batteries on my classic Honda's for some time, with complete success.

Brake and clutch fluids should be flushed through every 5 years for optimum performance. Easy to do if you keep topping up as you pump the old fluid through, well worth the effort and the internal seals will have an increased life

If there is no concern with the battery why would you want to change it? Batteries are relatively easy to obtain and you could buy a battery that lasts a year or so and then fails where your existing battery has proven to be reliable up to now.

I read somewhere that you should look to replace after around 5 year's? Stand to be corrected.
