This coming Saturday 27th I will be joining a bunch of mates on a long awaited tour taking in the N.C. 500. We are a group who started touring together about 10 years ago after meeting on the CBF 1000 forum. Most of us have had a variety of bikes since but we have carried on meeting up 3 or 4 times a year. Syd (Iamkwackers) from this forum organizes the tours and we always have a whale of a time.
I have recently had to change my GTR due to injury and have gone back to a CBF 1000 Mk 2 which is a lot lighter. Syd is a serial bike changer and has just bought a new Versys 1000.
Our mileage for the 8 days, which includes the journey up and back from Devon will be about 2,000 miles and similar for Syd travelling from Essex. Not bad for a couple of old boys of 72 and 77 although we are boys compared to the Rev Ken at 79.
The main point of posting this is to show that some lasting friendships develop on forums like this and we are both looking forward to joining you in Yorkshire for the GTR meet. The weekend after that we are in Wales for a long weekend.

Charlie and I did some of the route last year, it's worth the effort as the route and scenery is breathtaking.

Moayling, you are a shining example to us all and (with a bit of luck) have given me hope for the future when I get to retirement.  :scooter:

All because someone  gave a route a name :)

They are being actively promoted by the Scottish Tourist Board.
There is a dedicated website with downloadable routes for Garmin and TomTom.
It can be driven/motorhomed/motorcycled/cycled or walked given enough time.
I too have done all of it over the past years, but my son and I went together at Easter for a blokey weekend in my Lotus Elise. Very snug for two six footers !
