We're away for this bank holls staying in Dolgellau, unfortunately we're in the car..... our friends took us to Lake Vyrnwy yesterday, and boy o boy the road in was brilliant...the best thing is you use the same road out..

You guys may know of it....turn off the A470 at Dinas Mawddwy, (Goggle doesn't show a road number) into Wylecop st and follow your nose to the lake.

We've travelled this route a few times whilst staying at the "Bikers Retreat" Dolgellau, unfortunately not always in the best of weather.

This does not do the road justice, the wife was trying to show how twisting the road is....we have a short vid of the way out but never posted a vid before not sure.. :whistling:

Done a few rides out that way.My mum used to live in Llanfyllin.Take a ride around the lake over the dam.At the other end of the lake theres a tarmac road that takes you over and through a valley to Bala.  This is worth a look when in full flow  http://www.pistyllrhaeadr.co.uk/

Cheers Wildy we were thinking of going home via Bala, not been around there for maybe 15 years...then we can cut back down the B4391 and take in the falls.

Looks like a nice finish to the bank hols....back to work Tue at 0400.

Lucky....wish it was a little closer to us... but we enjoyed it even if it was on 4 wheels. We're looking at maybe a long weekend after the French trip...who knows we may get a meet up and running????
