Bike laid up for a few weeks over winter for various reasons, been using my baby 'GS to save the crud on the GTR!
Ridden big K twice in the last week....hated it!
Steering feels dead, unresponsive then turns in, most concerning! Confidence in riding usual twisties shot!
Tyre pressures checked, head bearings, wheel bearings, all to no avail.
PR4's fitted, done 7k miles, look hardly worn, a bit flat across width as used too much use for commuting on the M6!
Spoke to local spanner, Julian at Taylor Brothers near Stafford, advised me that a few of the Blood Bikes GTRs he services have ditched the PR4's for the very same reason, great tyre when new but erratic when worn. Bike specific issue?
Recommended Angel GT's, so thanks to a stunning deal at Bikespeed for a pair and Julians meagre fitting fee,  feeling confident again!
So, 150 miles of "scrub in" and let's see how these fair, first impressions good but that's alway the way with new boots on!
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

PRD will definitely agree!
I've just fitted PR4s (sorry Pete!)
So far fantastic. But only done about 50 miles.

Had Angel GT's on my blackbird and Pan, great tyre. Swopped them for PR4's on my GTR only because they were worn. Had no issues with the PR4's as yet, I'll see how they go, but all good at the moment.
XJ600, VFR800, CBR1100, Varadero1000, CBR1100, STX1300, GTR1400 ?

dont worry Barry. Grant is used to being at the side of road waiting for recovery when on michelins. He is used to it!

Angel gts are the better tyre as you will find out in the fullness of time.

i couldn't get on with them, mainly when starting off.ie COLD TYRE'S,it felt as if front tyre was flat, the steering felt wierd,i went back to the pr3's.

Are they the GT PR4's you had fitted, I'm sure they will have been but worth checking. It's a big heavy bike is the GTR so 7k mikes ain't that bad depending on how you ride.

Oh yes! Bike came from DK (never again) with Maxxis fitted, now that was scary! Due to DK foopahs gave me set of PR4 GTS.  Was happy till I rode it after a few weeks off, really strange! Annoyed at spending dosh on new boots but initial thoughts on Angel GTs' are positive. Still prefer the gs700 in traffic tho!

I have PR4s but not the GTs.
They normally wear out in the middle first (rear) but have never had problems with the handling.
In the wet they are very very planted but I think I prefer the PR3s even though they don't last as long.
