Flaking paint on exhaust end cap

Hi chaps!

I cleaned my bike this morn before heading out for a spin.

Got to the silencer end cap and the paint started flaking off!!!

New bike, been out 3 times and ACF 50 it all over.

Very disappointed 😧

Is this common? I heard of a few cases on the ZZR doing the same thing.

I'll phone the dealer tomorrow for a replacement.

Yeah, that thought occurred to me, I guess there'd be a priced 'adjustment involved though'

I e mailed dealer, he wants to see the bike to take their own photos to send off to Kawasaki.

Will have to be next week now, next day off

The paint on both the front and rear end caps started to flake on mine when it was about 3 years old. Mines a 2009 model so was not too bothered. Just rubbed it down and sprayed using aluminium VHT paint from Europarts. No problem since and it is the only corrosion on the bike which is now more than 7 years old.

Yep, if mine was out of warranty I'd have just rubbed it back and sprayed it with black satin engine paint. Job done.
