is there a quick and easy way or does it involve removing several acres of plastic?

Aye already read the workshop method but was just wondering if there was a shortcut

When I've messed with them I had to take off the plastics.  I think someone sometime had a quicker method...maybe removing the nose piece (the one you have to move to get to the city lights) and possibly the front black plastic thingy that lines the side of the radiator.

Would have been far simpler if they had been designed the same way as the rear indicators ;)

Feck nose what he said but I'm just about to fit switchback LEDs into the front indicator housings,


combined DRL & turn signal ala Audi etc


To answer my original question and to confirm what someone else suggested.

You can access the bulbs far easier and with less plastic removal than the workshop manual method.


1) Remove the rear quick rivet from the middle inner fairing on the side you require access too
2) Undo the two screws holding the inner side panel on and remove
3) you can now access the bulb holder (although you may find it easier to remove the front screw from the outer middle part of the fairing)

That's fine for changing the bulb, but to splice into the "sidelight" wiring (for the DRL side of your new bulbs) wouldn't you need to remove most of the fairing?

Just curious, is all...

Only extra step is to completely remove the middle inner fairing (ie all 4 quick rivets) so you can pick up a feed from the parking lights

Mikey ah didn't think anyone could mistake the play on words ... disnitygrator = indicator 
And the gauntlet was thrown down as to whome could come up with a FARKLE  =quick/er way of changing the indicator bulb .
