Had a interesting chat with kawasaki newcastle
I am concerned about the 3.5k silly service schedule . It was pointed out to me that the 3.5k and the 11.5k was basically a tyre kicking exercise .. its for owners that ain't got a clue on keeping a mc safe !!
So ah asked well you know me and what am like with me bike care and ott servicing .. their reply was......
In your case you can forego the 3.5k etc service as long as it comes in for oil etc ..
Asked about plugs .. and yes the iridium plugs go 30k plus and if I don't want em done .. BUT if you get a misfire related to plugs you won't be covered by Warrenty ...possibly etc
So considering in 2 weeks holls in Austria Italy and Switzerland covering nigh on 4k miles it's now doodable on the gtr without finding a dealer lol 😄😄

:agree:.... lots of the intermediate services are really visual checks with oil/air and oil filter changes.....learn to do these yourself and save "loadsa money"....

A quick check of your owners manual will reveal what is involved in each service....which is sometimes very little

Yep agreed with all the above --used to service my last GTR infact My Garage or as its known locally THE CAVE is well equipped to service,, weld remake on the lathe parts,
I have bikes serviced all me bikes over the years.
I was more concerned with the Kawasaki approach to Warrenty claims with the  serviceing carried out by a competent person -- aka ME :-) and yes I have read the LONG post on that subject and quite up to speed on that EU law thing .
So the upshot is as long as the bike is in warrenty it can go in every 7k for a engine/diff/coolant change as and when schedule demands -- everything else tyre kicking included will be done by MEEEEE lol

One question I have and not given it much thought till now.
I know quite a few members me included have fitted frames/ cages does this affect the servicing do they work around them or are the removed for panel removal etc  :help:

I suppose it depends on whether the frames/cages interfere with access to panels etc., if so I would guess that the dealer would ask you to remove them or charge extra for working around them

I'm quite lucky as Cradley Kawasaki is about 4 miles from me I always ride over to sort out anything so he can look before hand
