It might be helpful to include more information such as the YEAR of the bike.  Were you feeling any pulsing in the front through the levers?  Did it feel strange braking from the front?   Also, I've never heard of a rear rotor warping, not to say it can't.   How do they (MOT) determine if a rotor is warped?  So was the rear warped or just worn out (never heard of that either).  How many miles on it?

Agreed, we need more info in order to help

An introduction in the relevant section would be the recognised route for a new member too

There is a wealth of knowledge and help on here

Is it you who has asked this same question on facebook ?

Hi the bike is 2008 with only 11000 miles on the clock can't feel no vibration  through the brake lever been told to try a new garage for a second opinion

A warped disc will not (on its own) be an MOT failure. If the warped disc causes inadequate braking performance then that would be the reason for the failure.

So how do they tell?  Do they ride the bike and test it and if so, that's pretty subjective.

Nah, it's tested on a rolling road.
What ya need to do is clean the bobbins on the front brake disks.
The rear is a fixed disk.
Yes, it is common, sometimes the bobbins jam and the disk wears oddly.
Clean out the bobbins with brake cleaner until they can rotate freely and then see how it is.

I have a nut and bolt I tighten up and rotate while spraying with break cleaner, some people use an Allen key and put that is and rotate it it I prefer the nut and bolt method.

Hi and welcome.
Was this advisories or actual failures on the MOT?
Is it just the rear disc that failed or is there issues with front and rear?
Had the bike been parked for long periods? is there any disc corrosion or history of calliper seizures?
Was the MOT done at Sheldon Motorcycles?
If it's on the road and you can get to the Asda at SmallHeath, I work next door, on nights (1900 till 0700) Monday & Tuesday night if you want a second opinion?

Debs

M10 Flange Bolt with a 20mm thread, and M10 Flange Nut... You will also need a 15mm spanner for removing the nut when you have done a bobbin..

This will work on 'stock' rotors, but certainly won't on EBCs....
