Morning people.
Just spent a few days in France/Belgium and SWMBO has caught the panniers a couple of times as she's got on/off. Nowt major but it got me wondering about clear vinyl wrapping them to add protection.

Has anybody done this & did it work ?
Cheers

An adhesive film used to be offered by Kawasaki U.K , I don't know if its still available, you will have to check, BUT , be warned its a right  :censored: to fit as those on here who have tried will confirm

This is another option

Even with the film a well aimed boot will scuff Im Afraid. This is the price of image over functionality. My givi panniers don't have that problem. Gtr panniers look great when they are new but time and boots march on......

Chipguard do a film for GTRs. Whilst it's worth it, it is difficult to fit and requires a fair bit of patience. The panniers are fairly tricky as the film requires gentle forming and stretching to get right. Once on though, it stops scuffs on the top and front edge (it doesn't cover the sides).

The previous owner of my bike had it fitted at new by the dealer it looks so so but does it's job so will protect them for a while

I also have the film fitted to mine. It protects the paint but the scuff marks still shows on the film.  :hammer:

Yep, me too.  But now I've got to the point where I don't care about the scuff marks anymore...  Doesn't affect the bike's performance at all and keeps away elephants.

Don't know if they cover the edge enough though. I have the snake skin tank pads and are good quality (thick)

Thanks for all the feedback- appreciated :-)
Food for thought

Hi, we fitted the Kawasaki clear plastic protectors. An absolute baxxxrd to fit but managed it with lots and lots of soap and water in the bath. It took two of us about 30 minutes each pannier but I think is worth the effort.
