So I saw this on another forum and decided to have a go ( obviously far to much time on my hands of an evening ) made out of delrin the lift is 27mm so I now can glance down at the mirrors and only see the very top edges of the panniers and the bar weights , and piggy was no help as he suggested 300mm for that scooter look .

I do like the technical term 'mirror lifter uppers'.  Has a nice ring to it.

There are 3 screws under the support if these are undone the mirror will fall off so make sure you keep hold of it , delrin is a hybrid engineering nylon used for lots of things ( gears, bearings, rollers ect ) it is self lubricating oh yes vicar.  All thats needed is to machine the profiles + the amount of lift you require there is a peg that takes the load of the spring cam and it would be best if also to replicate this . I also machined a hole in the middle for the indicator wires as I put led strips on the mirror housing .
Hope this helps

Pross if you put lights in the hole the mirror casing my hit when there folded backwards depends how big the lights are I suppose.
