Hola folks
Now I could go and test, but that would mean waiting until I get home tonight !
Is the fuel tank on the GTR metal or plastic - in other words "do I need a strap on tank bag?"

While I'm here - can anyone offer recommendations for a small bag for a map, passports and wallet please ? Nothing too big - that's what panniers are for. I've been looking at the Givi tanklock things

Cheers

PaulB

The fuel tank is metal.

The Givi tank lock system is excellent (from experience with previous bikes). Sadly the "glove box" on my Gen1 GTR means I can't use that on mine.

As yours is the Gen2, there shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers,

Paul B.

superb thank you both (am also sure that SWMBO will be happier that I don't start googling for strap ons)  :mfr_lol:

O.C.

SW Motech  Quick Lock Evo  with tank ring is what I use

The ring is strong and secure  so a strap on wont be required  :mfr_lol:

I use a magnetic tank bag when I must use a tank bag..  Hasn't fallen off yet.

Don't strap anything onto your tank .. it will only get damaged.

I've had the baglux covers on a few bikes over the years and like them but the one for the GTR doesn't look that cracking...
