Both...  Hope it's not like the trucks passing on I85 in VA (US).   They can take miles to pass (two lane) as they are only going a 1/4 mph faster than the one they are passing...if that.

errr, longer than I liked !!

Anyway, made it to France today after leaving at 3.30am this morning............feck it was cold !!!

Only got above freezing when i got to Rouen ( 350 miles )

But now sat in front of the fire with a nice cup of tea ( well its hot ! ) after arriving 13 hours after I left.

I got a bag full of stories for Charlie for when I next see him ( over another maccy d's )

They are actually, and if you get rid of a bike due to problems that occur, you may as well pack up riding. Unless you buy an FJR, which runs for 200k straight out the box if serviced correctly.

Put it this way, Kawasaki will eventually iron out all the issues over the years that GTR s have had, add a few more bits like cruise, possibly more, and it will be top of the tourers.
It is actually a relatively new bike and issues will occur until they iron them out with newer models, like the Honda Crosstourer I just got rid of ( massive shaft drive recall ),,,just rubbish for long hauls, uncomfortable for me.

The K1200 had its problems as did the K1300, but I'm not fazed as I got a years Warranty and European breakdown cover, and if I don't try these things now, who knows what the future holds for us.
I will eventually go back to a GTR14, but not until I think its near perfect right out the box.

PS ( That's why I'm keeping one set of my bars )  :punk:

I'm trying to recall all these issues to which you refer Ant   :whistling:

For the most part, Kawasaki has sorted them all out..

Those are the ones that I could recall Jim and I have experienced every one of those issues on the GTRs that I have owned, non of which actually rendered the bike un-ridable, (I suppose we should also bear in mind the front disc warping issue), even so 7 faults over a period of 8 years is a record that maybe even Yamaha would be jealous of   :mfr_lol:

They've made minute design changes in both the pads and the rotors in the later Gen2s.  We definitely don't see that issue rearing it's ugly head that much any more.
