Especially not if it's closer to the road...   Just something to catch.

Anyway warm used oil on your hands is quite therapeutic .....but perhaps not so good for your complexion  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

Provided ground clearance hasn't been compromised too much then YES I certainly would, I work with pump and motors and this is an excellent engineering solution

All light aircraft that I have flown are fitted with a quick - drain valve for the engine sump - it's just a case of lifting the "T" bar that is part of the valve and turning it through 90 degrees, where it will lock in the open position.

If such devices can pass certification tests for aviation use, they must be reliable. After all, this is an environment where even a spin - on oil filter has to be secured with locking wire!

If you had that fitted back in the 70's then the scooter boys would have come along and give it a quick twist and there would have been no oil in your bike , not exactaly hard to change the oil using the sump nut ,  :biker3:

Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

It's actually not a bad idea as long as the valve is located not directly under the oil pan.  Ours is located on the side (for gen 2 bikes).  I just wouldn't do it on a plug that faces directly down.  I know I've had at least one instance where I've bottomed out on the oil pan guard itself.

I've never been 'off road' with the C14.  It's not designed for that kind of riding, although some do on occasion.  I had to pull off the road one time and it was a drop, somewhat more than I expected.  Stayed upright but banged the oil pan guard.  Quite unsettling.
