Cornwall!!   :mfr_lol:

Yes a change of venue this year, courtesy of Nigel we stayed at a great B & B in St Kew, just off the St Kew Highway near Wadebridge, Cornwall. Accessed from the highway by traditional, narrow country lanes with high hedges, blind corners and a mixture of gravel and grass on the road, ideal terrain for the GS, but not necessarily the K1600!! And don't even get me going about the Ford which Nigel encouraged me to cross, I had visions of the big bike slipping from under me while Nigel laughed on.

These were the digs we stayed at, Treggelist Farm, St Kew.

An excellent location and host. Reasonably priced too at £44 per person per night including a traditional breakfast.

The two BMW's,

We had glorious weather on the Friday & Saturday and visited Newquay which was pretty busy. Some of you may have seen this before if you have ever visited Newquay, especially if you have been down by the Fistral beach.

Its basically a lookout post from yesteryear for fishermen to guide other fishermen to where the fish are.

There has to be a reason why Nigel chose to pose next to my bike rather than his.

On our way to a café at Fistral Beach, this caught my eye and I couldn't resist taking a photo.

Some lovely views over the harbour.

And eventually a lovely, cool, Coke.....

After doing John O'Groats last year we had to go to Lands End this year.

A view from the cliffs.

Nigel attempting to do something with his phone while I shouted, just step back, a bit further, a bit more.  :whistling:

An arty shot of the K1600.

And a couple of dramatic shots of our bikes.

We ventured to Boscastle where I contemplated a ride on Nelly but wasn't sure if it would be too powerful for me.

The main street in Boscastle.

A side street in Boscastle with some colourful cottages.

We had a few pints at Boscastle which had an adverse reaction on Nigel's ability to walk unaided.  :mfr_lol:

Another 'arty' shot of the beast!

The Witches Museum at Boscastle.

Boscastle Café.

Nigel, posing for the camera.

The harbour.

Random shot of a tractor.

In and amongst the monsoon which was virtually all of Sunday we went to Bovey Tracey where we had a cream scone & very nice it was too when we eventually found our way to the café through an art gallery.

Our local pub, The St Kew Inn which was about a mile from the accommodation served us well for our evening meals.

The only problem was once we were stuffed to the gills, we had a long walk home and mostly uphill.  :hammer:

The bonus was though that by the time we walked back to the accommodation, we were confronted with this view.

We also had a trip down memory lane for me. My birthplace. A small village called St Tudy.

The main street.

A fairly typical property within the village.

The former public house.

Nigel was eyeing up a property which was for sale and which was pretty small by comparison with those above. He estimated it would be about £250k approx but was then informed by a couple of ladies at the bus stop that it was on the market for somewhere between £750k to a million. So he was close...... :mfr_lol:

We visited Padstow on the Monday which was a lovely village and obviously extremely popular with the tourists.

A busker was busking and drawing quite a crowd.

Another random shot of Nigel.

A marine artefact propped against someone's house wall.

A strange dog owner who liked to show his dogs off to people but didn't seem too keen to get them out and walk them.

There is a story to share about a gull & a slice of carrot cake, perhaps Nigel will share it, it was pretty funny.

A reminder of home for Nigel.

And finally an artistic creation for those who may be into rubber!

Boring Boring Boring.. :sleep1:

All your reports and accompanying write ups are good Steve, this one is no exception   ...............bout time we had some crap pictures and inaccurate reporting   :mfr_lol:

Well done Steve ... as already stated another great write up with the piccies to go with it ... very nice all of them
As you know there are many lovely places to visit in the UK and the South West is one of them .. blessed with great weather for most of it we had such a laugh, with less miles than Scotland and more fish and chips, cream teas and local Ales than we could cope with.
I shall place my version of what went on when I come off "Nights" in a couple of days.... Steves' photographic skills have come on well under my supervision, so we shall see what the trusted iPhone throws up that we can look at !!!!
The Gs was well suited to the roads down there and I dare say that a new WC version may be purchased in good time but I'll try the K first.... and for me to give up the gorgeous sound of that Akropovic going through a set of Nippy Norman stainless steel headers will indeed be hard to bear !!! Speak to you all sooooon .....

No, thankfully they have long been cleaned up. We did watch some You Tube clips the morning we went of the floods and you can visualise where they were obviously and which specific buildings were most affected. It must have been very horrifying for anyone who was there at the time.
