Hey guys

I was ridding in Paris day before yesterday and a dumbass decided to change lane without notice

My mirror and by saddle got broken

Can you tell me if this part (metalic) is part of the mirror or of the frame of the bike?

Cheers

the metal part is seperate

flatfour

I think that it is described as a "Bracket Mirror", priced at £109.16 + Vat. The part number could be 110550143, however please don't trust me on that!

ok great

good news. I need to see what the insurance company are going to decide but I bet some is going to be at my charge

Is it easy to remove? Shall I unbolt it from the inside of the housing?

cheers

If it's only the mirror ,they are cheap secondhand on eBay,

Boomer

Remove the black inner fairing (3 screws and clip behind the windscreen) over and you can undo the 3 nuts that hold it on.
Fiddly but do-able.
If you do order a new mirror bracket or a used mirror, make sure its for  2008/2009 as the later mirrors are different.
As for the pannier, you can buy a used one or just replace the broken parts.
Good luck and glad you are ok.

Hi what  year is your  bike I have a spare  mirror  it's  off my 09 but it's  the safier blue but think  you  can change  the  bit over let me know  if it will help.

virginiajim

You can pry off the colored bit quite easily so any first generation mirror for that side should work.

Had same little accident, someone changing lane without paying attention.  At slow speed both so didnt fall...
But his insurance took care of dammage...

The guy said he didnt hear my bike coming....   True, our bike is maybe to silent with that exhaust... Maybe now i will look for a better sounding exhaust too..  One with a sportive sound ;-)

Hello

Got the insure feedback

All good, everything is covered, 2000€ of cost. Luggage will be changed, mirror and left body cover.

I have now an idea of painting it in pearl white (Lexus color)

Anybody did that in the past?

Thanks
