Yup, thats me from today, officially a pensioner, well a pensioner in the means that at 58 I am receiving a pension (not work or state) and working three days a week leaving more time fo riding my bike, golf, and general stuff.

It's now i wish i lived up near 100milesaway and OC as i could ride around beautiful countryside rather then have to go south to Dover and across to French France to get away from traffic.

Bring it on.

O.C.

Can I offer my congratulations you Alan, and also to repeat the open invitation to you and the 'lads' to visit us up here whenever you can..you'll always be welcome mate and I'm sure Geoff will agree, you aren't missing much at the moment though as the weather here is absolutely Baltic and there's even a heavy frost on the ground !

Good luck for the future, and I absolutely know that before too long you will be saying " how the hell did I find time to work full time "
BE KIND...

100milesaway

Alan, On our avenue there are a couple who moved here from Tunbridge Wells, another couple from Exeter, some people across the road arrived from Bracknell.  The Dales are full of folk that came on holiday, fell in love with the area then came back to live here. Even myself and my good lady who although a Yorkshire lass (Saddleworth) are not natives of the parish.  It's easy Alan, sell your gaf for mega bucks, buy something up here, retire for 7 days not 4.  Then come out with us and enjoy.  simple hey?.  And they lived happy ever after..     :mfr_lol:
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

100milesaway and OC

We will be up probably in September again, we were chatting in the pub the other night.

As for moving i would, not sure about her indoors just yet, we had our place valued at £585k so i guess we could get a shed or something up there to bed down in and another shed for the bike.

One step at a time as they say, one never knows whats around the corner.

See you both soon.

Congratulations on your retirement.
[/size]As Geoff has said, relocate. You could buy an outstanding property for that sort of money up North.

Congrats on the retirement.

For £585k up North, you'd get a hell of a lot for your money.

Just don't buy anything in Bradford

A couple of years ago a mate of mine who lives in Bradford had a fire in his house, he escaped but the house was burnt to the ground.  Gone, everthing just of few cinders left.    shocking it was, it caused £25 pounds worth of damage.                  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol: :whistling: :whistling:
