Hi Guys,

My display shows a message that the pressure sensors have a low battery.

My mechanic told me that they need to be bought as a whole, nothing like a spare buttery to be exchanged when the tyre is off.

So disappointed.

Any recommendation how to get the message out of the display? The manual does not say much about it. I tried to look into the setting of the display but there is only switch of units.

Thanks.

It's easier to replace the batteries...

Cheers guys! How to replace the batteries? My mechanic told me it is not possible. Is it some kind of DIY job? many thanks :-)

Depends on the sensor.  New ones, no.  The older ones, yes.  There are videos on the subject kicking around somewhere.

Tyre Pressure Sensor batteries can be changed as long as they are not the sealed type..

Hi Guys, my 1400GTR is 2010 version. Would I have the sealed ones? I read some other threads and am not clear on that. Could you please let me know?

Ho lizard, I have the 2010 model and mine weren't sealed. I replaced my batteries, its not a hard job as long as you can solder.

shaggs147

Ho? Meant hi! I must be getting down with the kids!

Cheers Shaggs. Do you need to re-program the GTR's computer or the TPs with the new battery connects automatically?

shaggs147

It'll connect and work automatically. You only need to re-program the bike if you fit a new sensor.

Hey, Thanks a lot for your advice. Would you mind me asking whether you got a standard battery (the CR2032) or something with the soldered contacts already? I'm just trying to replicate what someone has tried and it worked as I don't have a place to fit it in myself - if I can do it when the wheel is being changed in the tyre garage, that would be the best. Thanks again and safe riding :-)

The one with the solder tags is best to be honest. Soldering direct to the battery is a bit hit and miss as the solder doesn't take very well and you have to put that much heat on the battery it usually blows it. Get the ones with the tags, it will make the repair a lot quicker and easier.

These are the ones that I used but I bought them from a company, not ebay.  This isn't a bad deal if you are in the States.
