whey cool Debs, so you went with the mirror location in the end, was the wire route over the mount and down through the fairing a pain?

Excellent job! Looks very professional. Is the camera weatherproof? What resolution is it? I'd love to see some footage when you get it wired up, and a write up of how you did it? Brilliant, very impressive. I think there'll be a lot of us copying you on this.

It's called 'Carbon Wrap'. Got it from ebay. It came on a roll

It was easy.. I had to drill a hole in the mirror hinge to thread it through. All went perfect.
The footage wont be as good as a GoPro of Drift but it will be good enough for what I want.

Yes it is waterproof. It's not a brilliant res but ok for what I want, so don't expect too much.

The DVR was £35 and the camera was £13. You can get better but of course it will cost you far more.

I did think about taking pics and doing a write up as I went along but couldn't be arsed...  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

That's way too easy.  Is it self stick or is there some procedure that involves alcohol?

It's self stick but you do need to use a hair dryer to soften it so you can wrap it round corners and curves. I did use alcohol cleaner on the covers first to make sure they were clean..

:agree: :agree:

Why should I need to do RoSPA once I have IAM? I'm not one for collecting "Badges"

Nothing to do with 'badge collecting'

You never stop learning, only a fool thinks that, and you may learn something new or different from another training provider - same goes the other way from RoSPA to IAM.

I am a member of both, for both cars and bikes in addition to Police Class 1 in both, and I am still learning, even from riders with 'less' credentials.

Personally I believe the RoSPA accreditation is more valued due to it's direct, not bastardized, use of the police system (RoadCraft) and tri-annual re-test to keep you on your game as well as the graded test system - Bronze/Silver/Gold.

I know IAM are starting to emulate aspects of this, but RoSPA is more established in this respect.

Both are worth doing and anything that improves your personal safety and awareness has got to be worth a punt.

Alcohol to clean it?  I was talking about alcohol for drinking and the way my day has just gone, I'm starting early.
