Picking up my new to me GTR14 tomorrow , fingers crossed. Used to ride a Pan ST1300, sold it last year.
Will I notice a difference in these bikes or are they very similar machines to ride?
XJ600, VFR800, CBR1100, Varadero1000, CBR1100, STX1300, GTR1400 ?

After the ST the GTR will feel like you engaged warp drive. In general I'd say you can also look forward to better brakes and better handling.
However, it's not as comfy and the weather protection is not as good.
Welcome aboard.

Having never owned an ST I can't compare comfort or weather protection,,,,but we always pass them  :whistling:

Comfort for the average person is fine once set up, We can do 500 mile / 9 hour stints no problem and fair reasonably well if wet...just wish hand guards would fit without interfering with the mirrors !  :hammer:

Enjoy......

Please tell me you didn't buy without a test ride first!

I've just come from riding an ST1300 for the last 10 years (2 bikes). Obviously the big difference is the power delivery, but the the throttle goes two ways so it's down to you how much it affects your riding. Comfort is very similar, though the suspension is firmer and as others have said there's less weather protection (but I rarely rode the Pan with the sail up  ). Handling/cornering is quicker (more sporty) as you'd expect. Fuel use is about the same, I'm getting an average of 54 mpg on mainly A/B rodes ridden quickly.

Changes I've made are some 2" bar risers, hugger, and extenders for the front, and so called, rear mudguard. A Top Sellerie seat will be next as I had one on the Pan and it was excellent.

I've never test ridden any bike I've bought, I go hunting, I find what I'm looking for, I buy, simples.

Test rode one a while ago, liked it very much, but had a Pan in between for a couple of years.
