Well, after nearly 40 years of riding Kawasaki ONLY, I think the time has come to make a change.
Busy looking (and negotiating ) on trading the GTR in on a Triumph GT1050.
I love the GTR but I think it's time for something a bit less "lardy". Getting the GT1050 next week for a couple of days to see how I get on with it.
Has anyone on this forum got any feedback on the GT1050 ? Would be nice to hear your views. Lots of reading on the net and forums has given me the impression that their owners are happy with them.

O.C.

I had a Tiger 1050 in 2007, nice engine...never owned a Sprint tho'

I went the other way, Sprint to GTR, in fact I had two sprints before the GTR and liked them, only hassle I had was I always found the triple to vibrate a bit to much, and when you look from the rear with those panniers on it looks like a wide barge.

Oh and the wind deflection from the front screen was rubbish.

Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

Did you have the ST or GT Alan ?

Any mechanical issues with the GT ?

Nice but chain driven.
Quite so Whinny ... why would one buy a bike with a chain ?

Probably for the same reason as one would buy a bike with a 'beak'

My mate rides a Sprint and we swapped the other day, It was fine, not a smooth as GTR, but fun, not sure  I would like to do 300 miles on it though.
