I'm in the process of buying and installing recognised security and would appreciate all your comments on known Thatcham approved, such as ground anchors etc.

I've got a oxford gold anchor and chain. But going by what the police guys are saying on the forum, they are next to useless

To get to my bike, you would first have to move my sons chaine dup and alarmed bike and the wifes car. Often thought about chaining the bike to her car, then thought properly of the potential consequences, remember Ogri tying his dog to his bike? Scarey!!

Unless you are restricted as to where you have to park the GTR, i.e. outside I wouldnt waste your money on a chain or ground anchor.
This was discussed on here not that long ago, chains, even those costing a lot of money are relatively easy to get past by breaking the links, quickly and relatively quietly.
Is the KIPASS system not Thatcham approved, I thought it was. Ultimately if someone wants it, they'll take it in any case.

Gas Man

This was just for the insurance  Steve as that's what they said would help the premium!! But it seems that maybe the ground anchor for me would be a waste as I will have it garaged at all times, maybe a lil fib s in order, I'll ask about the KPASS though

Ok after a bit of phoning around I found out few details which I'm sure will be helpfull to you all.
I spoke to Thatcham and they informed me that for Insurance purposes you need to quote the
KISS system TMC2-149/1103 . Its a catergory 2 Thatcham Approved.

handy to know, thanks for the info
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Gas Man

Your welcome FH, I've put it on a new post in case someone wants to sticky it.
