PRD,  I think what you paid is a fair price, I shimmed my zzr14 at 14500 miles and had to replace 14 shims (which isn't unheard of).  If you're happy that the work was completed (and you have no reason not too) and the bikes feels fresher for it then happy days.

Debs, sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident, I did exactly the same thing two years ago whilst touring Scotland and wrecked a PFM disc  :censored: even after the RAC had done their best I had to ride home to Norfolk with virtually no brakes at all  :shit:

I'm sure someone of your resourceful nature will somehow turn it into a positive.

Paddle faster, I think I hear banjo's...

Younger and wiser, eh Debs?

I actually have one of those red flags 'remove before flight' that I tie on to the disc lock so I don't forget.  Hard to miss that...

Burchy

Did that myself once.  Now I always have one of those £2 yellow reminders attached to it that hooks over the handlebars.  A good visual deterrent as well as a bonus

I know this would not apply in Debs' case, but when ever I fit a disc lock or chain, I always use the engine kill switch on the r/h switch gear. When the engine fails to start, it reminds me something is not as it should be.

That's what happens when you get younger, Debs.

Broke my front mudguard today. Rolled baby back forgetting the disc lock was still on... Big chunk broke off

Totally gutted and heartbroken

Well funny enough I have just Collected a brand new front mudguard from the twit who busted it last week, I can confirm a nice new one from Mr K is £175.61p and a carbon one from eBay is £145 but if you go direct to the website you can get one for £110 (Powerbronze).

There are a couple on there as well used.

I've been out on both of the old bikes today. Not far - only around 15 miles each, but great after a three week layoff due to ice, snow and salt. Hope to ride the GTR during the weekend or if that's not possible, I'll polish everything up in the shed!

Boomer

Not riding the 1400 until a good rain storm washes all the salt off the roads.
Bloody car has turned grey.
GTR1000 is still being ridden when its not too cold.
Not had a ride since last Thurs.

Took the Beemer over to Asif's today for him to peruse, he seemed to like it.  :whistling:  I think?

Oh, and then I spent quite a bit of time cleaning all the salt off the bugger.
