Found it whilst looking at rear huggers for my Tessie. Pyramid Plastics' Rear Hugger (£91.74) looks pretty nice - and doesn't look like it will interfere with the wheel removal. With the free fenda extenda (£16.90) + P&P (£8.50)... the grand total of £100.69 is a tempting offer.

I've had both on mine since shortly after it was new (2011) Both good products, top quality, easy to fit and lasting well. You will need to remove the hugger to get the rear wheel out though, there's no way round it!

personally id put a zero value on the front fender extender, they are all just too short on the gtr, ive got the one from the blue one guy in the states along with the rear extender, they are both plenty long enough !
Ive had the RG fender extender on the front in the past as it was longer than the pyramid plastics one, the abs material was so poor that when it Italy It melted and went a funny shape. It was a £25 one so you would expect better. Im not even keen on the rear hugger, i bought one for my zzr1200, after a couple of years it started to crack and made cleaning the swing arm a nightmare. Ive got a shock neoprene tube on my rear shock now and the huge rear fender extenda, thats my 2 cents for today!

Bradders it is possible to remove the rear wheel without taking the hugger off. I had a new rear tyre fitted only a few weeks ago and the fitter had no problems whatsoever.

Thanks for the comments... I thought the front one looked a little short too but I've ordered now so we'll see what they're like when they arrive.

I've seen the US ones and they definitely look functional but they're damn fugly, especially when the cases are off.

I'm wondering which hugger  you have fitted Chris, cos if its a skidmarx or similar you definitely do not need to remove it in order to remove the rear wheel, as I did several times with no difficulty at all

You must have a different Skidmarx hugger from mine then.
I cannot slide the wheel enough to the side to disengage the splines with the hugger fitted.

I don't know which one you Have George, but mine, as stated, allowed removal of the rear wheel

Just had a thought George, maybe there's a difference in fitment between the hugger on your 2008 model and a 2011 model...I suppose that's a possibility that would explain it

Mines a 2010 and like Boomer said I can't slide the wheel clear of the splines with the hugger in place. Mine might be a Skidmarx mind!

Debs

No problem with my hugger.. It was on my A9F and the tyre fitter never had a problem removing the wheel.. Its now on my new baby CAF and the fitting is the same.

This is my hugger.
As you can see, no room to the right to slide the wheel off.

Yep I see what you mean George

Mine shown here removed

I can't find a similar one showing the wheel in place

I think its easier to remove when the wheel can be angled and dropped down, i always remove the wheel on the lift,,,,,enough space to tilt wheel towards the disc brake and then drop down. It doesn't even move in the area of the hugger.

That could be something for Boomer to try maybe ?
