Just after the new water cooled BMW1200gs was launched, there were rumours of tank slappers/instability, which was sneered at by BMW, and some of the motorcycle press, whilst others were very wary indeed.   Well lo and behold the  014 model 1200 GS/Adventure, come with a steering damper as standard. Make of that what you will.  :undecided:
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

I just took delivery of my 2014 GS with the steering damper (etc).

compared to my GTR , the GS's handling is a revelation. Will take on more mileage over the coming holidays and report.

and the GS's gearbox and clutch are so very very very Good !

this thing (compared to the GTR) will scare you silly with how light and direct the steering is. I can understand how someone transitioning from a heavier steering bike will think that he hopped on a 125 scooter. Probably can also understand how a rider who is not used to how direct this bike is can get himself into alot of trouble very quickly if he's not paying attention. There is NO COMPARISON between the handling of the Kawasaki (bus) and the GS (not a bus). The Hardley Ableson was a (Tractor).
