Is it ok to mix a rear PR3 with a front PR4 or should I just buy a new front PR3 and use them till they are dead?

Ant

That could be an expensive mistake if it doesn't feel right when riding.......cant see why it would make any difference, but not something I would do...PR3 s are perfectly fine.

By the time you've worn them out PR5s will be out  :mfr_lol: :whistling:

Lonewolf

Ant, you're probably right on both counts, PR3's seem the sensible option front and back and considering I've had the 3's on two years virtually, I could be one of the first members to try out the 5's!   :mfr_lol:

First day of proper riding with the PR4s. All dry weather riding at the moment and these are just as good if not better than the PR3s. Hard to tell at the moment for definate as the PR3s these replaced were well worn, but from memory the inital ride on the PR4s was better than on the PR3s.

with my bt021's after a brisk ride i got all bobbles and bits hanging off like track day tyres which shows, if pushed they are quite get sticky.maybe thats why they dont last long?
do the pr3/4/5's or angel gt's also do this if pushed hard?

Asif, did you go for the GT version?

Did to.
100% satisfied after 400 km on both dry and wet roads. Stability. ease to turn in. dry and wet grip (as far as I have dared to try on rather cold and sandy roads). Top notch tire in my book.

Yup. Tried it out in the wet yesterday as well. Well impressed. I would say they are better than the pr3s. Amazing grip.

I had a new front PR3 put on last week and while I was there I picked up a brochure on the PR4's which they also had in stock and said they were selling at the same price as the 3's.

For anyone contemplating a set of 4's this is what they are all about.

I shall be getting the PR4 GT version next, don't need them right now but if any of you need them and we found get a group purchase sorted I am in, I can store mine until ready.

Somewhere in the region of £250, give or take a few quid.

ive run odd tyres on all my bikes over the years on and off and never had an issue. On the gtr I replaced the rearoriginal bridgestone with a pr3 and ran the front original bridgestone for a further 3k miles until I replaced that with a pr3. I never felt any problem through that time.

Lonewolf

I was advised by folk on here not to mix the 3's with the 4's and the tyre place also said the same thing, otherwise I would have done it.
