I am losing faith with PR3s. Today I have had another rear wheel puncture with less than 300 miles on it.  In my opinion  they do seem prone to this. I have had more punctures on these tyres than any other make in the last 20 years of riding.  If it cannot be repaired will be trying something else.

I guess it depends on what/how the puncture was caused.  If you picked up a nail 'frinstance, then I don't think you could blame the tyre manufacturer

I have had two sets and only one puncture right in the middle of the first set after about 6000 miles after riding down some crap road in Belgium.

Hopefully (touch wood) I have had no hassle since.

Never had that problem with my PR3s.  One thing I do have on my bike is a front fender extender.  Don't know if that helps or doesn't but I've gone through two sets of those tires.  Of course I'm knocking on every piece of wood in the house at the moment.

I had 3 rear punctures on PR3's last year. I stopped riding on the A435 between Cheltenham and Cirencester, plus some local country roads, and I haven't had one since (15K).

I've probably tempted fate by saying that.  :sweatdrop:

Two punctures in my rear PR3 one in the first few miles which was repaired and lasted the life of the tyre and then in May on a Bank holiday Sunday in the middle of Scotland. Deep Joy! I repaired it myself and finished off the holiday but had to replace it when I got back.
On a different note, has anyone had problems with the PR3 front tyre wearing unevenly and causing very wobbly handling at low speed? Mine's like a shopping trolley with a wonky wheel at the moment. I haven't changed the suspension settings or loading and the bearings are fine, so I can only think its the front tyre? Its not heavily worn, just uneven on the shoulders.

whay milage has your front done

About 2 thousand miles. Not a lot for a front tyre to be showing uneven wear.

Why do you lose confidence with Michelin PR3?

It can never be PR3's fault that you run something up the tire and get a puncture - or can it?  But it's easier to give Michelin the blame than to check out your own driving style - and which roads you use, etc.

:ohplease:
Cheers,
Hans
