I did a search but only found references to extended warranties; it sounds like your extended warranty is 2 years and it is around 400 pounds (sorry, don't have the GBP key on my keyboard)- is that correct? What is the standard warranty on a GTR purchased new in the UK?

In the US the bikes come with a 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty. It can be extended at least two times, for 3 years each, for $340 per extension.

Our standard warranty is 2 years, then as you rightly say we pay £400 for a further two years. Yes you are correct, we are getting fleeced.  :gun_bandana:

It is a little high but if we buy our extended warranties through local dealers they can be upwards of $600 / $700. That price was one worked out many years ago buy a C-14 owner and a friend of his who happens to own a dealership. He sells the same warranty for $339 but it is a special deal.

Can you extend the warranty again for a total of 6 years? More yet? There is some question here as to whether we can grab three more years of warranty after the second extension, which would bring up the total warranty period to 12 years- pretty impressive.

No ours is a simple original two years then an additional two years on the extended warranty and that's it.

I seem to recall it was transferable, so goes to the new owner when sold.

I bought it as I can claim for new discs on it, due to premature wear. One claim offsets the cost, so a no-brainer for me.

Yep, definitely worth the money. I've just had two more warranty claims this week & yes the warranty is transferable to a new owner.
