I have had pinlocks on my past couple of helmets.
Advantages are  you can carry a spare tinted pinlock if you do not have a drop down sun visor on your helmet, they work brilliantly IMO. and they are also easily removed for visor cleaning.
However they do need to fit properly, or you can get misting in between the visor and the pinlock, and the newer types with a thin silicon string seal around the perimeter are very good, but on my last one , the 'string' came away when I removed the pinlock for cleaning.

I've used Pinlocks (and still do) on all helmet visors that I've had for the past 5-6 years now, they are superb but you need to fit them correctly and carefully

Superb kit - used them in both personal and work helmets.

Just make sure you seat it properly.  Last as long as helmet/visor!

:agree: standard kit on some Shoei helmets. I have several that I can quickly change. The clear one is excellent in the rain and doesn't mist up so recommended.

Yeh when I had mine I thought it was a good bit of kit, but really prefer the convenience of the built in flip down visors now. Very handy in changeable weather

As above, I use one on the C3, worth every penny but they must be fitted correctly.

Well i got one as standard with my XR1100 and fitted it as per the instructions.  Went for a ride, then to it out after a few KM.  for, some reason I was getting some nasty recurring reflections between it and my glasses.  It's never been put back in...
