After getting TP sensors and back tyre done on Saturday I was at the Manchester Marathon on Sunday as a safety marshal. There were 3 of us doing the role on bikes, 2  GTR's and an FJR.

Not a taxing day, just checking a section of route prior to the race arriving to see that the road closures were in place and that the static marshals were happy. The sun shone, for most of the day, and as it was my 1st marathon in this role it was rewarding to be helping at such a professionally organised event.

A few photos are posted but the one scene that I didn't capture occurred when I found traffic that was getting round a road closure due to insufficient  cones to make a good physical barrier. There were 3 police bikes there and they very kindly went up the road and brought extra cones, carried by sitting thme over the top of there blue light poles.

The briefing was in the Directors Suite at Old Trafford Football Stadium

Once the runners arrived it time to park up and find a cuppa

The latter runners were well spaced out and struggling a bit!

Nothing better than standing back and watching the security guys do the work!

We were asked to move the bikes as we were blocking access to the Munich Air Crash Memorial

Four is fun.  Six is sex.
