Probably a total fluke they got caught, probably bumped into the Plod as they were on their way to pickup a takeaway.

You can imagine the scene ... middle of the night .. old boy driving, just wants to get back to the nick to warm up and get a cup of Tea .. passenger .. keen young doey eyed probationer who needs some paperwork to show his Sgt when he finishes the shift .... 3 up shitty van goes bye ... old boy ignores it (cos he's asleep) .. DEP ( that's the doey eyed probationer ! ) thinks "Oohhh paperwork, shop check forms, PNC checks " We'll have some of that " .... Nee Na Nee Na ... and before you know it 3 in custody ... Tea and Medals all round !!!!!!! I think that's about it !
