For sure we all know one thing in common on here , we're into our Motor Bikes. Just wondering out of interest what others do out side of work when not on the Bike or Buggering around with it.
I only ask as when went into Garage to collect gear for my other past time, it got me thinking. Is any one else out there a Kite Surfer..doubt it some how. I certainly know on the Kite surfing forum, a fair few are Motorcyclists too.
I been out on the water all day , beautiful Sun shine & a very Blue Atlantic Ocean. Even got my face sun burnt. Sounds odd but the glare off the water in the sun light is strong.

So what other hobbies have we? Sure must be a varied range. Bridge, Allotments, Knitting....country & Western (no surely not ) .... ;D

You mean there are other things besides motorcycling  :o :o :o

Mine other hobbies are photography - landscape, portrait and fashion.
I use to go kite flying until my accident a few years ago. I still have the kites and hopefully I will be mobile enough to re-start flying them again this year.

Kind regards

Steven

I am also a keen photgrapher...mainly landscape & wildlife. Used to be into climbing...but got too old/fat/injured to continue. I still enjoy mountain biking and single track, but don't get nearly enough time to do it. I also do forum moderation on a motorbike touring site and that keeps me quite busy as well.
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Interesting thread, I wouldn't necessarily call it a hobby but when I'm not working or out on the bike I enjoy walking my dogs, two black and white English Springer Spaniels. We have lots of moorland and woods not far from where I live, Ilkley Moors, Shipley Glenn, Baildon Moors etc. I find it peaceful taking a stroll with the dogs, getting wet, muddy, etc, sounds lame but in a daft way its relaxing.

Otherwise I keep myself occupied taking photographs, videos and creating short films. I sometimes film my rides out on a HD Go Pro and then tinker with the footage, add music, credits, whatever. Just a bit of fun at the end of the day but it keeps me entertained.

Just realised from reading what I've just typed that it sounds a bit dorky, oh well, thats me, exposed at last.  ;D

I play PC games (Fallout New Vegas at the moment), do DIY, read a lot (3-4 novels a week).
I'm into science and technology (work in IT) and love to play with my 2 Burmese cats "Bozo" & "Monty".
I am an unfit oversized social-leper geek.  8)

Getting into digital photography was bought a days wildlife photography course for birthday, not sure this is something to admit to but I do a little bit of birdwatching when out walking  ;D

if am not out on the bikes, am either at work or doing some type of d.i.y. around the house. use to spend most of my time in the garage repairing bikes have bought as my hobby! some have made money on. and some have been lucky to break even on! but at the end of the day it was what I enjoyed doing! now am happy to just come home from work and put my feet up. also I would now rather ride bikes than fix them. also use to have a touring caravan which was one of my favorit pass times. both my-self and the wife, used every other weekend and for 3 long breaks through out the year. but decided to sell the tourer because the weekends breaks where getting very expensive. by the time you paid for the fuel, site the van, pay the pitch fees, gas e.t.c and spend most of the day stuck in traffic we decided to throw the towel in! it work out alot cheaper to spend a weekend in a nice hotel. I do miss the tourer and the friends we met up with. but as normal this goverment in many ways as made it to expensive to holiday in britain. now I just enjoy my 2 bikes and my car, by the time I have washed and cleaned them am nacket! getting on now" but not yet passed it ;)
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

fair comment! I use to call the caravaners! but only when I was not towing one ;D have allways been "one extreme to the other" one weekend I would drive around slow towing my caravan. calling the mad bikers! then the next weekend ride like the clappers on my bike calling the caravaners :)

Blimey ! Where do you start ? The South Downs are great for mountain biking .. nothing serious for me, go out a couple of times a week, maybe an hour or so at a time .. lovely views and scenery up there... Molly ( 7 year old Border Collie ) will come with me and just loves it .. if not biking then down to the beach with her for a couple of hours playing around in the waves. Then at this time of year there's a bit of gardening to be done .. no I am NOT green fingered but we have a decent sized garden and use it a lot in the summer for BBQ's and just having people round for a beer and to get it nice for the summer work has to start now ! I used to do a lot of Photography but the last couple of years have become so busy with other stuff that I have given it up .. just about to sell my kit actually ( may start a thread in the for sale bit )... then when I am at work I get a chance to use the gym and run round Central London, which is, strangely ,really very nice .. St James' Park/Hyde park etc .. so that's it really ... lots of outdoory stuff !

Steve ... A Nikon D1X, body, 2 batteries, one still brand new in the box, battery charger, and the DBX 28 (?) flash gun ... with an assortment of lenses and a "Lowepro" rucksack... it is all about 5/6 years old and the whole lot is MINT.. still have the box and software.. the body was recently cleaned and serviced ready for sale .. just havn't got around to it. I shall post it on a thread in the next couple of days when I have finished my shifts ... if you are interested E mail ... looking for about £400 the lot. ( not lenses ) It's classic Nikon .. lovely !
Sorry about that everyone .. bit of selling going on in the wrong thread !!!!

I tried to get into photography but it just didn't bite me hard enough. I've got a Fuji Finepix 620s SLR lying about somewhere ...

My favourite pass time used to be writing code. I used to be an uber geek. Started programming on the BBC when I was about 10, and then later on the Amstrad 464. But now I find programming boring so bikes are my main hobby now. I did play tons of sport as well, but injuries have mean I have to check what I do.
