Bumpkin

Hi all,

After standing around looking confused for a while I have traded my unruly GS for a green GTR 2011 - thanks to Martin for your time, help and patience.

Really like the look of the colour, but it's green and runs in the cold, so what else could I call her?

Doing the swap on 29th Sept, when I get back from a trip round Brittany & Normandy, then I shall absorb all your sage advice, as long as it's not to get stuffed  :ohplease:

I live between Newbury and Wantage, in Berkshire, and hail from Bristol, so +1 for the southerners.

Thanks Guys,

Tried the Explorer on the way here, and it's the perfect bike for me....... on paper, and it's a great bike, but have to agree with Bryn, the pedals are a little too far forward, so makes you sit really heavily on your coccyx which not only felt like it was going to hurt, but also made me feel uninvolved with the front wheel.

Every time I got on the GTR my grin got a little wider, so pretty confident I'm going to enjoy this :)

Mr Bumpkin.. welcome to the madhouse forum  see you have the second best colour gtr  hope to see you on our 2013 gtr meet  p.s don't forget to bring your panniers thou! or you may be "wolferised" not as bad as it sounds thou  :nono: his howl is worse then his bite :mfr_lol:
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

Lonewolf

Dave, Kawasaki went to the trouble of fitting panniers to the bike so it's only right to use them. :mfr_lol:

Having a couple of hounds I get all the howling I can handle at home, so I'll definitely declare myself as 100% pannier compliant  :surrender:

Boomer

Panniers are for grandpas :wheelchair: and touring.
I don't want those dirty great things messing with my aerodynamics and clearance.
Now if I'm touring then I'll use them but if they're not needed, they stay at home.
And you'll never convert me, so there!  :mfr_lol:

Geoff,

Glad you found the forum, and even better now you have the beast on the way. I had hoped borrowing mine would convince you. Your GS is a good bike, probably better than the GTR is some ways, but it does not have that Kawasaki motor.

No parking it anywhere near mine at work though - my well used, mud coloured (in more ways than one) thing will feel very insecure next to its new, shiny brother.

Stay away from the accessories section of the forum, it is bad for the wallet  :mfr_lol:

Martin.
65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.
