I think I will be. Just need to get to 5pm today without and "will you work this weekend" requests from work

That's easy, just don't go into work then the question can't be asked.

After a 10 O'Clock meet in Ilkley we set of ably led by Geoff (100miles away) and proceeded towards Pateley Bridge a beautiful little town which amongst other sights has the oldest Sweet shop in England...of course boys being boys we had to do a little shopping

Just look at the shelves full of sweets ...mmmm

Then onwards towards Leyburn where we called at the Manor Cafe for a good cuppa

Then over Buttertubs with spectacular views and onwards towards Hawes

Once we arrived at a busy Hawes it seemed like a good idea to get a feed of good Fish & Chips

Now with full bellies we moved onto Devils Bridge for a chat

I left to go home and the rest of the gang went to Dent

Thanks (again) geoff for an stunning ride out and a big thanks to whoever organised the weather which was stunning

Left home at 7-45 this morning to meet up with the boys in Ilkley, arrived back home at 7-45 this evening, 12 hours on a B road boogie. This was one of the great motorcycling days, fabulous weather, great bunch of lads, scenery second to none, and in my humble opinion the best motorcycling playground in the country.I think everyone will remember this one for a loooooooooong time. Thanks Alan for bringing such a grand bunch of lads to play out with us, I think they were rather impressed with the sheer beauty of this part of the world. Please pass on my thanks to them for making today one of those very  special ones.  . Asif and Roger hope you both found your way home safe and sound  A big thank you from me to every one involved.

Wont be there today Geoff summat cropped up sorry mate.

In addition to my post of yesterdays fantastic ride out a sad event has come to light..

Devils Bridge has been known for many years for youngsters, mainly male, to jump from the Bridge parapet into the rapid water below...its a dangerous game which has claimed lives in the past, others have been seriously injured...we were discussing this very fact yesterday afternoon before the group moved on to Dent, and in fact we were looking at the water below from the bridge parapet where these stunts have taken place.

At 5pm yesterday, just after we left Devils Bridge, another 'stunter' lost his life....what a waste of a young life...soooo needless

Some more pics for you to enjoy

Three GTRs waiting for the southerners to turn up

Note how the fastest one is propping up the slow ones

"And he said he wasn't going to come out cause it was raining!"

"What, you southerners don't go out in the rain either?"

The sweet shop. Boy, did it have sweets

Just to prove that green isn't the fastest colour

And 15 mins later it went past

At the cafe

A red bike cause I like red bikes

More GTRs

A quick drink

As the southerner who instigated this shebang yesterday I have to say a very big thanks to Geoff (100milesaway), Roger (older coney) and Asif (kwisasfuki) for being there at the start of what was an excellent days riding, Geoff road at a pace which was perfect for all of us except one but we know he is slow but gaining in confidence, his knowledge of the roads and sights was exemplary and if anybody gets the chance to follow the pink arm bands do it, you won't regret it.

A full days riding it was with Asif the first to drop out due to work, Roger went all the way to Devils Bridge and Geoff took us all the way right back to Ilkley some 8 hours later. Our plans to hit the clubs of Leeds Saturday night went out of the window and we had a Thai meal and beer.

All of us have said we would like to explore more and no doubt will be back with the funny sounding northerners sooner rather than later.

I have some pics which is due course will appear but for now again a big thanks to you all.

We even ignored the M1 on the way home as it would have been sacrilege to go on a motorway after all that scenery.

Alan, I must have saved you and your buddies a fortune by wearing you out so badly  that you wanted an early night :sleep1:, rather than go clubbing ., or maybe it was all that lovely fresh air we have in Yorkshire.

It has to be the clean fresh air, anywhere within the ring road of Oxford is smog bound, more buses and lorries you will never see in one place at once, I was raring to go but it was the others.
