Formula 1...fookin bunch of pansys...  :hammer: 80,000 people have turned out in the pissing rain to see practise and what happens.... 'Ooooh too wet for us, best we go and pose with our expensive WAGS in the dry'.....

Where as over in Germany tis also pissing down and the Moto 2,3 and GP boys are hooning round the track....sideways mostly.... 'Havin it'!! !..  :gunsmilie:

I agree, I much prefer watching the MotoGP weekend. The Assen Moto3 race was immense.

Whilst we are comparing the two though, did anyone see the Bike magazine article a few months back? Looking at datalogging from Silverstone, put Cal Crutchlow in the Silverstone F1 race on his Tech3 Yamaha and he would be lapped 14 times. I knew the downforce assisted cars would be quicker, but not that much.

65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

I would have thought Cal Crutchlow would have been lapped approx 52 times as he didnt race last year with a busted collarbone?  :mfr_lol:

I'll get my coat.....

Round a racetrack even a low end Lamborghini will give a top road-legal sportsbike a run for it's money.
The cars can brake harder and corner a lot faster than the bikes which offsets the bikes gains under acceleration.
Of course yer comparing a £140,000 supercar to a £11,000 superbike.

On the road it's no contest.  :punk:

Well it p@ssed down so hard here on Superbikes weekend that even I didn't go the 6km to the Monza circuit to go and watch. Good job really, becase most of the races were cancelled and they did about 7 laps of the main event and abandoned it. Definitely not worth 75EUR!!

They're all a bunch of pansies, if you ask me...  :whistling:  Mined ewe, it was a very electrical storm.........  :surrender:

Ah and now the Organisers of the F1 are asking people not to come as the car parks are flooded.... I mean it's not like it doesn't ever rain in the UK....  :hammer:

O.C.

The first bike GP I watched 'trackside' was at Silverstone in about 1982/3, it bloody chucked it down and the car parks were like mud baths, bikers were wallowing in mud, the race was great and Rob Mac (I think) did well...it literally took hour after hour to get out of the circuit !

Last year (2011) Gill and I took the car to Silverstone to watch the MotoGP it pissed it down, was freezing cold......brrrrrr, and the track is now so far from the stands that on a wet day its all you can do to freekin well even hear the bikes let alone see them...it was shite

Oh BTW, it took hours to get out of the circuit...no cahnge there then eh  :censored:

Eurosport for me, grandstand seat ten feet from 50" plasma, I see every corner/crash/overtake. Burger bar and drinks on demand, access to executive toilets(c/w unlimited very soft paper). free parking and zero time to get home.

I know its not the same as being there but the prices are now outrageous, the views that the ordinary plebs get is too far and obstucted by safety fences etc. Even BSB is too expensive now

Great for those of you who get hospitality etc

I will still attend WSB and MotoGP when in Europe as it is a big part of the trip

Better to be old and grey than the alternative!
