Hi folks,

I thought I'd come out from behind my screen and post some pics.  Hope you like em!

The only day in June 2010 that it rained in Grenoble....  The day I picked up my shiny new bike.  Fuxake!!

Anyone seen this sign before??

THIS is asking for trouble...

I bribed my old man (with wine) to go and stand on some corners and take pics of me riding around looking like a twerp....  here's no.1

This one was a bit steeper.................

And this just to prove that I made it out of the last one even though the angle and countersteering looks a bit weird...

And this is one riding behind my crazy sister on her Fat Bob...  Just don't ask ;-)

Take care

Ros

Ya see a lot of those "Prudence" signs near our Caravan at Le Camp de Castellet (N8 between Aubagne and Le Beausset).
Awesome twisties with a huge straight past the Circuit de Castellet (Circuit Paul Ricard).
They have put a roundabout in the middle of it, but you can straightline that at 140+ if yer brave (STUPID!) enough.

Many of these twisties have concrete walls (like those in your pics) or 200' drops so if ya makes a mistake at speed yer gonna get hurt. Worse still the Circuit has a bar attached, so many ride there, have a few bevys and then ride home, sometimes via a hospital and occasionally via the hospital morgue.  :nono:

They used to hold the Bol D'Or 24hr motorcycle endurance race there.
The road from the circuit to Le Beausset was packed with bikes all weekend (closed to cars) but riding it the week after the races was AWESOME! A tight twisty road utterly covered in super-sticky rubber from the 100,000+ sportsbikes that had ridden on it all weekend.

As for what they wear on their bikes, well you can tell those that have previously had a serious off, as they have full coverage armoured mesh gear on. The rest are in shorts & T's with some riding in flip-flops.

Gingerly?
Better to be old and grey than the alternative!
