kwarrgtr..! glad to hear your mirror stayed in place after the repair, and your foot is on the mend. there a heavy beast, so you must have a dam tuff foot. sorry.. I missed the first turn, and took the second turn  but the main thing is you where not injured  the bike can be repaired and made to look like new again, bones and flesh can't. hope you get it repaired as soon as possible and look foward to meeting you again on the next meet. p.s hope your cumbria ride goes well and the weather stays nice.
regards dave..

It was really great to meet everyone yesterday, I had a superb time. Thanks all for making so much of an effort to organise, and to trek half way across Europe to be there.

I cannot see the FB photos as I am not on there - bit of a techie dinosaur me - but if anyone has photos they are struggling to get online, feel free to email them to me ( martin @ trackandrace . com ) and I can host and share 'em.

Cheers all, and how you all made it home safely.

Martin.
65,000 miles now. Loving this bike.

Here for a good time, not along time

frenchbiker

I set off early yesterday morning and made it to Eurotunnel in record time, 180 mi in 2h15 min ! LW I think at some point I was way above 85.9 mph !!
Thanks to all the organizing team , think about Spa features for next year to attract more ladies...
A special thanks to Colin, Viv and Cath for taking me around for a spin, and the nice time in Stratford.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all, and 1100 miles I clocked on the bike this week-end were well worth it. So long...Steph

Firstly I'd like to say many, many thanks to all those who attended, whether it was for the day or the weekend. I think I'm right in saying that everyone had a terrific time and hopefully it can be repeated again next year, only one little mishap and we all felt for Keith as we could all imagine what he must have felt.  If only Dave had seen the 1st right turn!  :whistling: .

Right time for my little   :mfr_lol:    contribution.

Friday morning, bright and early I set off for Lynn Ravens Cafe at Whitchurch. I'd never been before but arrived safe to see 2kwacks, (Dave) was already there having a crafty fag. He didn't look happy for some reason when I took the photo.

Plenty of memorabilia inside of classic bikes etc.

We knew the room would not be available at the Lower Lode Inn until about 3pm so we had a steady tootle down avoiding the motorways completely. Geoff would have been very impressed on that score. I think we finally arrived at the Inn about 1pm to find Frenchbiker, (Steph),  Kawdolph (John) and Timstoke, (Colin) were already there. Note the twin pipes on Steph's GTR.

I cant remember the exact order people arrived in but I think Doktordave, (Dave) arrived pretty soon afterwards. From left to right, Doktordave, John & Dave.

There were quite a few people camping this year. Dave, John, Viv, Cath possibly someone else also but my memory fauls me at this late hour!

John's residence.

At the same time that we had our little get together there was also a classic bike gathering taking place.

I almost forgot to post a picture of the Lower Lode Inn. An excellent location and many thanks to 2kwacks for suggesting we meet there and to Viv for recommending the Cotswolds in the first place.

Friday evening we had a few drinks in the bar, Rossendale Rider, aka Andy & Alison attended via ferry. (more on that in a minute).

Viv & Cath

A small section of the bar. Old'e world style.

Before I forget.....the ferry,     I think it was a £1 to cross the river on it. The ferryman would go back and forth until last light apparently. To the untrained eye it might look like the ferry is filling up with water, i.e. sinking, but no, thats just to keep you on your toes, perfectly safe, honest!

Timstoke, who by the way isn't callled Tim or from Stoke. Real name Colin. Colin in the middle. Other appearances by Rusty, on the left, aka Nigel & Doktordave, Dave to his mates on the right. (he insisted we call him Doktordave all weekend!)

At the bottom of the garden/grassy knowl in front of the Inn is a mooring for a few boats.

Almost forgot, the Inn plays host to a few dogs. This little chap who for some reason always looked so sad loved to pester customers all day to throw whatever was to hand. Where's that grenade?  :whistling:  Only joking, dont want to offend any dog lovers out there.

Cute little chap though.

Keith, aka, (kwarrgtr) rolled in on the Fiday evening.

Friday night we had a good turn out in the bar despite most people not being able to arrive till Saturday due to other committments etc. Plenty of ale was drunk, far too much by me and I had a bit of a sore head on Saturday morning.

Breakfast was good at the Inn, usual full English or as John insisted, full Irish.

Viv & Cath.

John & Dave

And the other Dave.

You cant beat a bit of food with your ketchup!

The weather was being kind to us all on the Saturday morning although there was a brief and harsh shower.
The vintage/classic bikes group were preparing their machines for a ride.

Once the rain had eased a few of us decided to go for a short ride. That would be me, the two Dave's John & Keith.
Needless to say there was an incident not too far from the Inn, which could have been a lot worse but thankfully wasn't.
There are pictures but needless to say without permission from the victim, they wont be going on here. But so that we dont become complacent this is what caused the incident and a whole lot of grief, potential expense and discomfort.

While we were at the 'scene', we were suddenly presented by a tremendous sight of about eight GTR's coming off the main road and turning onto the lane where we were waiting. Anyway, there were so many of us that we decided to have a small street party.

We were dispersed by a few angry motorists who objected to our inpromptu gathering so we headed back to the Inn where Rusty, aka Nigel and Kwikasfuki, aka Asif had arrived.

Nigel on the left.

Asif enjoying a joke. He'd just heard that I was going to do a demo on how slow a GTR could be ridden.

Another one of the resident dogs, no doubt considering cocking it's leg against my bike.

Some of the gang.

Keith, post incident I think looking in good spirits.

Colin, Steph & Viv.

Dave, Steph and Colin.

We decided to attempt a group photo of all the GTR's (15 of them) in front of the pub. Two non GTR's had to be towed away in order to avoid a lot of photo shopping!

Finally achieved. It certainly raised a few eyebrows even from non bike owners at the pub.

After we'd taken the pics we discovered that some cheeky bleeder had 'stolen' our drinks which we'd left out on our table. A quick bit of investigative work revealed the below image from CCTV.

Anyway, presented with the evidence, she apologised and returned them.

Eventually a few folk started to disperse.

This guy then turns up with his ten month old Great Dane, trust me, it was bloody huge!

Apparently thats what £900 will buy you.

Saturday night there was a lot more of this......

And as the pub was so busy we had to wait a while but eventually we got some of this.....

Sunday morning, breakfast again. Eventually Asif turned up and made a new friend.

Very cute dogs.

Dave then made a move and got himself ready to go to Nottingham to see family.

We started to get ready for departure, hoping the weather would stay dryish so we could have a little look around the area.

We went to Lower Slaughter, (what a quaint little name) where Dave insisted I photograph these ducks.

Before we left we went to a very posh establishment where we were waited on and had a drink.

Dave decided to put his waterproofs on as it pissed rained briefly.  :nono:

The following pics were taken at Dovers Hill in the Cotswolds. Captain Robert Dover's  Olympic Games,  which included such events as shin kicking were staged evry Whitsun from 1612 until 1852. The chaps on here by the way are not us!

Some random shots of the stunning countryside and residential properties.

I think this was Stow - On - The - Wold, another quaint setting.

Asif had to make great haste to get home for a wedding so we headed to the motorway and as Dave said on his post above it was quite a spirited ride. We all stopped off at Lynn Ravens Cafe at Whitchurch again and then parted company with Asif as Dave & I went to J & S motorcycles somewhere down that neck of the woods.

So thats it, just a few pics.... :whistling: to tempt others to attend next years meet perhaps and a momento of this years event for those who attended. P.S. apologies if there are any spelling mistakes, its taken me a while to do this write up!!!
